I’m looking for a set of rock lights that’s reliable and somewhat easy to install.

I like that lux is magnetic but there are so many other brands out there. Any strong opinions on one over the other?

My primary purpose to to light up the wheels when I’m airing up after being on the beach at night. And well if I’m already going to install thrm why not get rgb+w

Lux Lighting Systems makes what seems to be a very nice product and easy to install. The lights are magnetic. Pricy though.

They are the front runner now and honestly When you look at the others there not that far off in terms of price.

I am running the Quake rock lights (4) for the inside of the wheelbase and (4) KC on the 4 corners. They are equal as far as output. These are not RGB disco lights, just clean white lite. I liked how Quake had a complete wiring harness with quick disconnects. Both sets are easy to mount.

I use the Baja Design. Not too bright, and I have them in amber so the dust doesn't interfere with my spotter.

for just airing back up when getting off the beach, I used a headlamp...it's the cheapest option with the easiest install, haha

I used the cheapest option besides the headlamp on my JKU. I forget the brand, but it was $5 a light and it never failed through rain and mud. No disco lights, saw enough of that when I was a child in the 70's :CWL:

For anyone interested I think I’m going to go with the KC cyclone v2.

Lux - product may be made in the us but the app and controller for these lights leaves a lot to be desired. Wouldn’t want this app on my phone. You can use the remote instead of the app but customer service seems to be hit or miss. Looks like a great product but some things don’t sit well with me

KC can be had with a magnetic mount for a similar price to lux. Good brand, looks good from the reviews and videos I’ve seen.

diode dynamic looks great and very bright. 2 settings high and low. 10 watts is double just about every other option out there but then again so is the price @ around $75 per light. I don’t really need it this bright so I will prob save the money. If they only had the lower wattage I would maybe go with them.

diode dynamics also did a good review of all the rock lights. It wasn’t apples to apples because they compared their 10w light to all other lights which were well under that. The cyclonev2 looked like it had very similar to coverage of the dd light on low.

Just my opinions, hopefully they will be helpful.

Thanks for the mention!

One of the most common reports we’ve seen with the KC Cyclones is water intrusion, especially when mounted underneath the vehicle. They tend to hold up better when used in less harsh environments—like mounted higher for scene lighting—but undercarriage use can be a weak spot.

Our Stage Series Rock Lights are designed with that in mind. Each light includes a snap-on, optically engineered lens for the widest spread of light. The lenses are interchangeable, and underneath we’ve sealed the board with a custom clear epoxy to make sure the unit can’t be compromised by water or dust. On top of that, all of our rock lights are backed by a lifetime warranty for peace of mind.

I have the LUX lights, that I bought from a friend who sold their gladiator. The quality is great, but the app is poorly done in my opinion. I finally just stopped using it. The issue is that if you have a switch cutting power from your lights to prevent battery drain, the app loses its pairing. So every single time you use them you need to repair. I just gave up. When I use them they’re just on the color I last used with the app. I haven’t successfully paired them in like a year. Is anyone using a different app that works better and holds the settings?
