For me it was. You could do longer control arms with or without the geometry brackets as well. I felt like there are more benefits with geometry brackets vs longer arms so went with that. Paid $489 for the lift and $182 for the brackets after tax+shipping. Sold the ProCal for $75.so the AEV kit + geo brackets (AEV makes some too) are likely the best bet ?
Another thing to consider is I have heard AEV stopped shipping ProCal with the kit but I don't think they lowered the price, so the economics may be a bit different. Also, the AEV geometry brackets are literally double the cost of what I got the Rancho brackets for, and they are both fully welded one piece units.
