When upgrading to a steel bumper with a winch, where do you mount your front license plate if required by your state?

I guess I don’t understand why we’d want to put our license plates out ahead of the bumper where they’re likely to get mangled.

here in Colorado it’s required... I have the oem steel bumper with winch plate from warn. They gave a killer bracket for mounting a license plate, I went to ace hardware and got some knobs so I can remove my plate within 30 seconds. Easy peasy.

I'll second the JCR bracket. I had one for 4 years on my JK without issue. Now have one on my Gladiator, even though I have an Ace bumper. Low and out of the way but still legal. Dumb law though. My front end is my Avatar pic right now the hanger is there with the plate removed.

I built my own, comes off in seconds with 2 socket head screws, also serves to keep some dirt and debris out of the winch line.

One of the companies out there make a plate mount that grabs the rollers on the fairlead. Pull it off then you don't need it.

I have one by Quadratec and one from Rugged Ridge (one has my beach access plate, one is a fire dept plate). Both have very strong clamps (not coming off unless you mean it), but the Quadratec version had better quality nutserts.

Yes like that. They work well but only with roller fairleads.
