I posted this on another thread, but it gave me quite a laugh this morning. A local dealer's response to Gupton's build was about 7k more expensive, but it included a whole five free oil changes.

Good Morning Sir!
Unfortunately we are not able to match those numbers on your Gladiator. In our region there are no rebates on the Gladiators so that is the lowest price we can offer you. If you do decide to still give us your business, I will say you will get 5 free oil changes for your Gladiator as well as preferred service through our service department for being a customer.
Thanks and Drive Safe!
I'm getting a quote through several local dealers more so to get a feel for what dealership I want to take it to for servicing, but it was nice getting reassured that these forum deals really are worth the trip. Not to mention the transparency and not having to deal with the loops these local places are trying to put me through.

So two free oil changes because the 3 jeep waves are included.

But that’s none of our business.

Wait - so are they saying they'll treat you worse if you buy somewhere else but then pay them to do any service/maintenance? That sounds horrible. Although - I made a point not to bother/complain too loudly to anyone local on price just because I don't want them salty when I come in for service. Ideally they'll never even know I was there before.

Works out to about $3,500 per oil change. What a deal!

Hah, that's probably what I should have done.

When I worked in sales, if someone truly was beating what I could offer, I would tell them something along the lines of "That's a hell of a deal. I wish I could say I could meet or beat it, but I can't. You should take it." and that was that. I think people valued that honesty and it led to increased referrals.

Instead, I'm just going to avoid this place and have it serviced at a dealership that didn't give me quite as much hassle, or assume I was dumb enough to even mention five whole oil changes.
