Mine are about 5 1/2 inches from the step to the bottom of the door.
Thanks. My current steps are 4" so this would provide a little lower step which would be good for the wife and kids.

Really happy with mine. Very functional (rugged, good steps, fits body contour). Lining up carriage bolts to start the nuts was a bit tough. As others have mentioned, attaching the carriage bolts to the brackets with RTV would be a big help. I did something similar, except with JB Weld. It set up very quick (within a few minutes) and made installation much easier. The preattached bolts make it easier to use a parts claw/grabber or magnet to position it in place while getting the nuts started.

Is there an available discount code for the LOD Website to purchase these steps?

Biggest issue I ran into was confusion on my part and also instructions that were not super clear. I used the wrong bolt in this hole (center mount on passenger side) and ended up cross-threading the bolt/hole. Wouldn't tighten and wouldn't come out. Had to cut it off. My options will be to drill this out or take it someplace to put a few beads of weld around that lower bracket attachment.

The instructions said to use the self-threading bolts - but this is what I got and used. I should have slowed down and paid more attention...

I had a hole already there in the frame and used a bolt with the wrong thread! The #16 bolt in the instructions ended up being one of two supplied but mixed in (and I did not notice the difference) with the other thicker threaded bolts. So, again, my bad for not really thinking this through. One of those bolts would have screwed in perfectly, I suspect!

I had a similar issue during this step. I started with the same bolts, but felt that it seemed to catch and not thread well, thinking I am going to strip this bolt in the hole, so I stopped. I went to the passengers side of the JT and found the bolt in the same location, which mounts the Skid plate to frame. I removed this bolt and went back to test it, and it fit perfectly. I ordered (2) more from the Jeep dealership as I would use one for my wife's JT, and now my JT this week (bot LOD steps).
The bolt is a Mopar 06104444AA Hex Head Screw & Washer.

Just ordered a set should be here next week. i had powered rough country steps that came on mine. i took them off and found some cheap smithy built ones local. still wasn't happy with the overall protection so hopefully this will be everything i would need.

These are well made, sturdy.
Pro tip (credit goes to @Northridge4x4 for the suggestion) .... use a little silicone on the bolts before trying to get them into those backing plates... I've pulled mine a couple times while putting on some rocker armor and it's so much easier....

This step is key, retains the hardware to the plate for easier installation. I did this step the night before which allowed the silicone to setup for a morning installation.

Very nice! It appears this partially covers the open area from the bottom of the front fenders where the sliders meet up to reduce the mud/dirt slinging on the side of the Gladiator? They stick out some to also help with the mud sling as well?

Thanks for the write up!

The instructions state that a bracket on the side of the frame needs to be cut off? Is that correct?

Yes. It's on the passenger side. Don't know if all years have them. I think it is a shipping bracket - not needed now. Here are the pics of me cutting it off and then hitting it with some paint. Used an angle grinder with a cut off wheel and then a grinding wheel to get the burs off.

I been looking at these, jcr crusader, oem performance steps and s3 power sports ambush.

Each has their pros and cons. Money being a factor as well.

I read from another member that jcr crusader squeaking a lot due to the pinch weld mounting but they look good and have rock lights, would be kinda cool. $1100 ish

LOD destroyer look good and frame mounted with more reviews and still $1100 ish

S3 power sports ambush are more oem performance step equivalent with rock lights as well but Idk of anyone with real life experience with these step/sliders? $550

Mopar oem performance steps/sliders don't have much step to them but I found them local for $550

I really do like the jcr and lod... But with jcr I'm worried about the squeaking. Now for the record I'm not a hardcore offroader. Forester service roads, overlanding, and occasional rock play... So any information about expiences with any of the ones I listed?

FYI...
at Northridge4x4 there are coupon codes that you can use for the sliders. I went that route.

Are these steps, or are they strong enough to use as a high-lift jack point?

They are rock slider steps... Pretty sure you can use a jack on them
