I know what you mean. I started out carrying 5-gallon jugs. You can see one of the yellow jugs in the picture below. On this trip, we drove through Nevada where fuel is very limited, especially when towing. I soon learned that it was very inconvenient to carry and transfer fuel from jugs, especially using the double flap filler neck. We finally got the 40-gallon auxiliary fuel tank and that made things so much easier.

I ended up with two Wavian Jerry cans for my diesel. The filler neck is a non issue. 10 gallons in less than 10 minutes.

If that works for you, then that's the most affordable way to go.

I'm going to use some type of a fuel cell with a battery pump, but I haven't searched for any ideas yet. I use VP Fuel Cans to fill my subcompact tractor (10.2" × 10.3" × 21.3"). They are 5.5 gallons, but a little too tall for the Gladiator bed with tonneau cover.

I just looked up the long range America tank and says it's not compatible with the diesel. Is yours a diesel?
Definitely would be nice to get a longer range.
I doubt they will be doing any for the diesel JT. I own their JT now that they were using for engineering of the tank. Seems like they didn't think the market was there for it
