Hahahaha. ALL OF THIS!! People buy a Jeep for looks and then complain about the very things that other people begged FCA to keep on the new generation. I drove doorless and roofless in light snow conditions 1000 miles round-trip to the Grand Canyon in a poorly geared manual transmission JK. You wanna learn what a Jeep feels like, try that.
I did that all the time in CO in my 08 JKU Rubicon 6 speed, what do I win?

That JKU had a considerably quieter hard top for the record...

Whatcha win? I dunno.

Jeeps have slothlike turning ability, lazy braking, loads of loud noises, leaks here and there, “make an appointment” acceleration , and “built on what was supposed to be a day off” quality.” With all that being said, it is the only vehicle I even consider when it comes to outdoor activities and fun. The wind noise is just something you sign up for at purchase time.

Sure, but my hard top is considerably louder than it should be. Especially, since its noticably louder than my JK hard top was and Jeep made a big deal about how much quieter the new hard top is and the windshield angle, blah blah blah.

Overall, my JT is sooo much better than my JKU was, it has plenty of power, a nice comfortable interior, it rides and handles well, etc. Huge step up in everything except the obnoxious wind noise. I'm going to look into the foam thing that was referenced on a previous post. I've never folded my windshield down, I only take the top off.

Has anyone installed the headliner? Has it helped any? I notice the wind noise but it doesn't bother me much - it's more for the passenger seat occupant :)

I haven't had mine but for a few weeks and what I have observed or heard from my hard top is that if I don't put the right side section on before the left side it is much louder and more noisy. Don't know if there is a certain way the panels are supposed to go on since the dealer didn't explain anything but now I make sure that I take the left off first then the right and reverse that when putting them back on. That seems to make mine much quieter.

If you look at how it’s designed, that’s really the only way they will go on properly.

I wonder if a Jeep with a truck bed has opened up the Jeep world to truck owners and other truck shoppers, like me, who want a Jeep and a truck but have never owned a Jeep before, so after many test drives have taken the leap into the Jeep world without having the background of what's ahead.

I'm in the same boat, my first Jeep (and pickup truck for that matter). But the loud road noise isn't far off from the vehicle I was coming from.

The cabin is more hollow sounding than other vehicles due to its nature. But test-drives let that be known right away.

The noise does really become noticeable until over 50 mph, so on the test drive around town and over some mountainous hills, it wasn't noticeable because we never got going that fast. It doesn't bother me though I do notice it (just turn up the awesome stereo a little more).

In my case, it sounds like a window is cracked or a door isn't fully latched and you can hear air escaping into the cabin. I still haven't had a chance to fold down my windshield and see if the windshield seals are properly installed. That would make a lot of sense if they are not since I think I've eliminated everything else. Its quieter than the soft top models when driving in city traffic. I honestly think its louder than the soft top models I've driven on the highway.
