No, you do not. Unless you are traveling at 50mph on the highway holding everyone up. Jeep rates it at 16/23.
Add in going slightly downhill the whole time and I think you nailed it lol.

I have a 2020 sport with rubicon wheel and tire package. 30,000 miles and a 2 1/2" leveling kit. I average around 17 right now, but I warm it at work in the winter and in summer I take the doors and t tops off as much as possible.

Where are you getting the MPG figure from? Don't use the dash, it's retarded.

Use the trip odometer and gallons added.
Actually, if the tire settings are accurate, it's within a couple tenths or so every time for me.
I compare app numbers with the Jeep's numbers on the JT and it's really very close. Worst I have seen since tweaking tire sizes is about 0.3 off. Sometimes it's a bit high, sometimes it's a bit low, but that makes sense since you can never fill a tank exactly the same any two times. So over time, it really averages even closer. Over several months it was very close when adding the averages up.

I need to check the tire sizes on the JLU because it's off by several tenths but it's a more complex system since it tries to figure electric use in the mix and I've not had time to really truly compare over time. Factory tire size settings aren't always as close as they should be, IMO.
But my JT mpg display is now extremely close.

Tests have shown otherwise. They really have a negligible impact.
Check my other posts on this - there's a whole lot better and longer term testing than those mythbusters did with their single drive testing which proves almost nothing.
Longer tests including those by GM and Motor Trend and others show they help - and reduce drag a fair amount. Two tests showed that the non-rigid covers tended to help a little bit more.

BLUF: I've averaged 15 MPG no matter what I do and how much I weigh. In other words, my MPG has gotten better as the truck gets broken in despite adding 280 pounds of weight because I'm getting the same MPG.

1 year in and I only have 7250 miles on it. I'll probably double the mileage the rest of the year with planned trips to SoCal and Camp Lejuene NC. I almost never get on Interstates, much preferring state and county roads. I'm also planning to do part of my trips on the TransAmericaTrail and try hit some Jeep badge trails.

I don't use the trucks average fuel economy, every single tank I calculate myself [Miles from last fill divided by Gallons added].

I averaged 15.1 MPG with a brand new truck that started with a 2630 mile trip from the dealer in Eden NC [TriCity] to Ft Myers Beach FL for 1 week and then back home to MO.

I pretty much finished my planned build in a year with adding the Centerforce clutch last week. My average MPG since Oct 22 is 15.0mpg. This is after adding 280 pounds of build and gear. Details below for those interested.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 22 Mojave with every option other than the smokers group. My door sticker said the max weight I could add was 962Lbs. Subtracting 962 from the gross vehicle weight rating of 6140 gives me a starting weight of 5178. That said, I got a Certified Weight of 5360 as soon as I got home which included my everyday carry gear on board at the time.

I've added the following; LoD front and rear full width bumpers; Badland Apex 1200 Synthetic winch; Rhino bed liner [also on the four fenders], RockSlide Engineering Gen 3 step sliders, Redline hood struts, removable mud flaps, ARB dual air compressor and mount, Bestop Sunrider, Armorlite flooring, QTech stealth LED lights, AWE Tread dual catback exhaust, Centerforce clutch, spare tire protector, BAK4 rollup tonneau cover, hitch slider, Ravelco security system and misc small stuff. In the bed I have a heavy recovery bag, water, EST survival ax/shovel, X-Bull recovery tracks, multi adjustable trailer hitch. All of this adds 280 pounds.

I'm very much hoping to get better mileage on longer trips but I hate Interstates so I won't expect it.

I drive a Pavement Princess, Not an off reader.

When I purchased this 2023 Jeep Gladiator Overland, in April of 24' it was averaging 18 mph on the highway without AC going.

This is all Stock, with the Penstar Motor.

I researched and added the following:

1. K & M Lifetime Filter
2. Spitfire Performance Chip
3. Spitfire Intake Wind Tunnel

On a recent trip to West Michigan, my mileage increased to 31.8 mph without AC & 28.8 with AC engaged.

Am I a True Believer in Spitfire Performance Products? Absolutely!

My 2023 Rubicon is now eight months old. It has 8,500 miles on the odo and is completely stock --besides the tonneau cover.

I get 14.5 MPG around town; 17.5 MPG on the freeway. Provided I don't exceed 70 MPH. I can get 18 MPG if I don't exceed 65 MPH.

Damn, my 2020 JTS is getting averaging 18 between in town and highway right now. And I have a lift, bumper, winch and 37x13.5s. The highways out here are 80mph as well.

no way in hell a Pentastar is getting that kind of mpg. 9unless it's down-hill with a tail wind. )

You didn't really do much research to have settled on a K&N filter - no one who loves their engine uses those (I've got test results for those crap filters)
Nothing is going to give you an extra 10 mpg. Not on gasser pushing a brick down the highway.

If you can plug in a chip and gain that, FCA would have done it.

Pay him no mind, there's a 90% chance he's either a bot or paid advertiser. He joined today at 9am and his two posts bragging about MPG read like a sales pitch.

Yeah, talking a 50% increase when TOPS you might get is 10-20% with a lot of mods.
Their intake "fan" is about like those turbo spark plugs of years ago.
No way they can "boost air pressure" going in on a NA engine.
Sorry, I've been into building cars since the early 1970s, including performance vehicles (like my own Javelins) and their claims are outside of reality without exhaust and cam changes.
If you pressurize the air going into the intake, then you also cause trouble with the PCV system - these PCVs do not have an anti-backpressure feature.

(We've also found around here, you get better mpg with the windows up and AC on because the cabin of a car or truck acts like a big scoop in the wind - unless you drive with windows up)

3 PMs in something like 10 minutes all saying I'm wrong............. hmmmmm
I have a stock Overland and track mpg, etc. (but don't get crazy over it - it's a TRUCK) so if they sent me the parts I'd sure do a good test and review on 'em.
However, even the web site shows gains of half of the claims here.

And you can't stick something in the air tube and increase the pressure.
That's all based on the pull of the engine as a "compressor" drawing air in against the resistance between the atmosphere and the piston heading down. Anything in the way will decrease pressure in the tube unless we are talking a cross ram and the right cam.
They advertise turbulence as a plus - yeah, but placing their rig by the air filter - that turbulence would be gone after the air gets past the throttle body. Turbulence is best introduced close to the cylinders. (even in the heads or cylinders in combustion chamber design)

As far as chips - think of Dave, and others, and their tunes - they never saw any such mpg gains.

As far as sticking something into your intake tube ->

I could go into great detail about the whys and why nots............ but won't unless asked.
