Nice. Don’t forget that air intake. If it comes back without the stock tune, I can send you a copy of mine…

Once it learns how to read the GPEC5. Pretty jealous to see you and Fonzie get your builds done and knowing you’ll be ripping it up in a couple of days.

They should send it back with the stock tune. They pull the original tune from the PCM, swap the chip out and write the tune they pulled back into the ECM.

Changing to the tune for the SC is your job.

That’s the way I read it per the HP site when choosing the stock ecm option to send in. Thanks!

Want to give a shout out to @DAVECS1 for his help with me, and his patience with me during the tuning process. From the get go, the tuning part worried me the most due to my lack of computer intelligence!
Have not driven yet, but the truck started immediately after the re write, idles perfect, and no codes. Revs super quick.
I have to relocate my intercooler pump bc my aftermarket inner fenders interferes with the recommended mount point, that will not be an issue.

Dave, question for ya. With Magnuson claiming 440 hp with their tune, and orig pulley size, what do you estimate the hp/tq with the smaller pulley?
I would also presume cleaning up their tune is good for a few extra hp as well?!?

I know the small pulley for sure pushes more than their claims. I was going to get on the dyno but now my truck is going under the knife for some valvetrain issues Jeep gifted me. Anyone who has driven a small pulley tune can tell you the punch is pretty awesome

I had the Magnesium SuperCharger in my "cart" when I noticed the PCM warning about the new chip. Fortunately, I hadn't purchased it yet.

I'm obviously waiting for the unlock to be compatible with my truck, but am I understanding this thread correctly, Dave, have you discovered a way to make the V5 PCM work?

If somebody has a link they could post, I'm not familiar with "small pulley".

Thanks in advance!

(I'm a brand New Jeep guy, traded in my 2018 F250 last month, and have no regrets so far!)

No I have not done anything for the GPEC5 ECM HP Tuners is working on unlocking it.

The "small pulley tune" refers to putting a smaller drive pulley on the supercharger, in order to spin it faster and make more boost.

To do that safely I have had to adjust valve timing, spark, and fueling. In my opinion the torque modeling and transmission actually work better with the small pulley vs what was supplied with the supercharger. My guess is the lug curve is a better fit.

And is purchasing that smaller pulley an option when buying from Magnuson, or is someone making that separately and modifying the supercharger?

Also, thanks for the reply and explanation!

The smaller pulley is available on the Magnuson website. You’ll need to purchase a smaller belt as well. Check out the below thread, and that will provide the information you need.
