Hello everyone,
I deleted my aux battery because there was no need for it, as I did an engine swap and the 392 does not support the Start/Stop feature. So when I started getting the "Aux switches unavailable because battery is low" message, I decided to delete it, instead of replacing it. So I followed the Youtube video instructions which had you disconnect the aux battery negative cable from the main battery neg. terminal, and wrap it so it doesnt touch anything, and pull the fuse (I think F49 or something). However, it seems like every 6 months or so, my battery has a hard time starting the Jeep. The battery is an Interstate battery. Which was recommended by the place that did the engine swap. The first time it happened I brough the Jeep to Interstate where they kept the battery under charge overnight. That worked for a while, then a few months later, started having the same issues of not being able to start the jeep. Brought it back to Interstate and they gave me a new one. Now, about 6 months later, I am having the same issues again. Has anyone had this problem? And if so, what can I do about it?

The JT has a fairly high parasitic draw, especially with the 8.4 Uconnect head unit. The Main Battery and Aux Battery are paralleled together. Removing the Aux Battery actually lowers overall capacity. If you only have one battery, it should be a 94R (H7) size. That is the largest size the battery tray is designed to accept.

If the truck is not being driven enough to keep the batteries charged, it should have a battery maintainer connected when it is parked.

A good first step would be to fully charge the battery with a good AGM charger, and reset the IBS (remove it while the battery is charging).

Thank you. I think I do have the larger battery. But I will try to reset the IBS.
I’m going to think about reconnecting a new aux battery also.

Just make sure to charge your main battery fully before an IBS reset.

Your Interstate battery should be an AGM type battery and not a typical lead acid.

If you reinstall an Aux battery, it will add capacity back to what it should be. You can leave f42 out and your Aux and main will connected at all times.

You may need to put an AGM trickle charger on it when not driven much.

I bet that 392 is nice.
