Rick Hendrick CDJ here in Atlanta sent me an email advertising $1000 below MSRP on Gladiator. They are showing 12 units either on hand or in route. Hendrick is a major player across many brands in several states. Other dealers will follow their lead.

Most are staying at MSRP here in MD even with other dealers nearby offering 10+% off MSRP.

Still pretty shit price when as said you have others offering a lot more off. I have notice the local dealers coming down a couple of hundred off MSRP.

Nice to see this happening closer and closer to me. Hopefully they can do 5% below invoice by the time I'm ready to buy late this year. I don't mind a good road trip, but I'd also like to keep my business as local as possible too. And with a potential trade-in, dealing local just feels easier.

Many manufacturers start with high MSRP, followed by the big discounts game...."$12k under msrp", "save 20% off of msrp". I wonder if the gladiator will see any of this. Yes, I know it's still too early and they aren't manufactured in the same quantity...but you never know ;)

I'm thinking of trading my tundra for a gladiator...

What is this? "
2020 Jeep Gladiator RUBICON 4X4 Duluth" for $69,999 . Hendrick has several of those???

Not sure that is a bargain!

Yeah I'm a little surprised. At first the Gladiators were selling literally as they unloaded them from the trucks. But lately I've seen several just sitting at local dealerships for a couple of weeks now.

It's still slightly early to make a judgement call on this, but I was thinking that this could happen because the truck market is a totally different market from the one the Wrangler competes in. Very different buyers, with different needs, and different views on "value".

I might be wrong, but is not the JT the most expensive veh in the Jeep Wrangler line? That makes it a high bar!

What we don't know is WHO is the JT really aimed at. You see true Jeepers like myself have been buying for over 50 years and will continue to do so in what few years I have left. But the market has changed or expanded...I got every option (Except Auto Trans) I could get on my '03 Rubicon and I think I paid around $23k/ . It was a simple Jeep and had what I wanted Cruise, PS/PB/AC the rest was pure off-road. IIRC I think they only sold about 55000 jeeps that year and it was record sales!

Today they are selling a lot, not sure how many but look at it: Leather seats, heated, cooled (coming soon the dealer told me) all kinds of do dah, 8.4 in screens...NONE of this works underwater either and I have had the water in my Rubi up almost to my chest on a river crossing...more than once! Those days are GONE folks!
