Lol this is the reason my rule is usually below the doors line. I don't want to pull carpet and don't trust myself to not get stuck.

At least the JL/JT have drain plugs. Got the old XJ stuck in a deep sloppy mud hole. It was so deep the fan was spraying muddy water out the hood louvers. Water up to the bottom of the seats. Had to pull it up into the steepest ledge I could find and open the rear hatch to drain it. Good times. Of course drowning a $3500 XJ vs a $50k+ JL or JT isn't all that worrisome.

According to Jeep, all Gladiators can ford 31.5".

That said, technique matters. Go slow, and if the engine stalls, do not attempt to restart it.

I also recall guidance offered at Jeep Academy: water is not to be deeper than just below the headlights.

The JLs have a placard on the tailgate with the fording depth, dimensions, approach/departure/breakover angles, etc. Why they didn't do the same for the JT is beyond me. The JLUR is 30" or 33.6" with the xr package. I'd bet the JT is the same just from working on both. That's well above the door line and ours stays dry inside even at that depth. The only access to our AZ property is through this wash. The day I took this picture the water was at the top of the 37s. 4" of lift and 2" of height from the tires I wasn't concerned even though we were at/ slightly above the recommended max. My 2017 ram rebel was door handle deep in a crossing on the mojave road after a storm at just 1500 miles on the thing. 120k trouble free when sold so I'm going to say it was unharmed.

No one catches the 30" that Jeep advertises I guess.

Used to say 30 back in 2020.
Still, 30, 31, 31.5 - no one has paid attention "to the BOOK" in any case, whatever the current number is.
