Maybe selling the JRT, just poor service to fix issues.

Welcome to cell phones, bluetooth, volume control, etc. - that may be an annoyance to you but it's not a defect if it's what I suspect you are referring to. Radio volume has zip to do with bluetooth/phone volume. You must set the latter when it's active. You can't turn the radio down and decrease phone volume.
It's that way on everything I've owned, including an Alpine stereo with bluetooth. Our phones frustrate my wife as she's got her game volume down but when she tries to listen to music on it, she can't hear it.
Don't blame the truck. That's a basic thing I've seen with other products - and it's an annoyance, not a defect.

Tires - yes. They can go bad at the drop of a hat. Do some research on tire reviews - I found a number of people who complained that after just about 5,000 miles a belt slipped, another said there was a sidewall issue, a 3rd said that one tire ended up where the dealer couldn't balance it. It would hold for a while then be out again (apparently things shifting inside but they should be able to find that, if nothing else, road force balancing)
Yes, tires can do random things, yes they can be fine and suddenly not be fine.
I'm not saying that IS your case, I'm suggesting you seem to be dismissing some things out of hand, maybe because of frustration.
I've been at this for a long time and I've seen some unbelievable things.
I agree with this big time. Tires can be weird apparently. I got mine rotated and now my JT steering wheel has to be 5-10 degrees left to go straight.

I’m gonna swap the front tires this weekend to see if that changes anything because I’ve read stories of that helping. Worst case scenario I go to discount tire and swap all 4 for 35s ?

You'll never be able to prove it, but I'd put money that the weights were fine. I of course have nothing to base this on, except working with shady advisors in the past. If they left something loose it pays nothing to the tech, its a bringback. If they say its the balance, tighten whatever was loose, balance the tires then the tech gets paid and the advisor makes commission instead of nothing. Wheels already off, remove the weights and 2 minutes a tire to balance. Main reason id say this is tires are my profession, never in 15 years in the business have I seen a vehicle be violently out of balance. Balance can be very felt, but you describe entire vehicle weight shifting and like a death wobble. Also if balance there is normally a speed it appears and disappears at. Example it vibrated above 25, shakes bad at 60, evens out over that is more of my personal experiance from customers with balance issues. Not a balance issue in my random internet guy opinion. If a tires was making that kind of issue it would be a broken belt, or severe cupping/chopping which develops over time and that is not repairable. Sadly though there would be no proof of this as long as they actually balance the tires after.

All that being said I see through jaded glass having been in that business for years. I wish I was more of a when in doubt trust someone isn't lying to you kind of person, but man that gets harder the older I get.
I would bet a weeks pay that this is the scenario that played out. I took the wife's 4runner to the Toyota dealer for a recalled fuel pump replacement. A week later went to fill the tank, fuel was pouring all over the ground. They never reconnected the fill tube to the tank.

Let me start off with the fact I really enjoy driving the JRT. In theory, I love the vehicle as a whole. It fits my needs, its' comfortable, it's capable and it's modular. It checks all my need boxes and most of my wants boxes.

But. Working with the dealer to solve issues is just starting to outweigh my love for the truck. Every time I have to deal with them, it takes forever and I have to follow up and re-explain things and the level of resistance to take things seriously has be concerned. For example, here's my current issue.

Truck had about 5100 miles on it when I took it in for the steering TSB. I'd have my Toyo ATiii 35's on since about 75 miles and they have been great. I drove the truck home from the TSB and park it with almost no driving (maybe 12 miles?) before my next trip where I put some descent miles on the truck. Within a few miles i notice the truck is developing a shake, and 100 miles later it's bad enough I don't feel comfortable taking interstate bends at 65mph. I bring it to the dealership and explain things. I explain I have a trip planned with the Jeep in 8 days. I was there for 90 minutes before I got a ride home (constantly told it would only be a few minutes). They call me, blame it on the tires - they want to rebalance and need to charge me.

I re-explain that the shaking was pretty much immediate after the TSB was performed and was getting worse. They are persistent, so I tell them they can rebalance my tires, but if it doesnt solve the issue then I wont pay for the rebalance. If it solves the issue, I'm happy to pay. They say OK, we'll call you back.

The next day, I call in the afternoon - they are back on with "its the tires". I re-explain that I really dont see how my tires that were fine for 5100 miles developed an issue that got progressively worse immediately after a TSB on the steering box was done. They did not document that they spoke with me yesterday, and we had to re-hash the entire convo again. I restate that Im happy to pay for the rebalance if that solves things.

That brings us to today, I've not heard back. If they come back one more time and have not re-balanced the tires or want to talk about how they need to balance the tires - I'm out. It's just not worth the headache of having a truck that I is not safe to drive after the TSB was performed. It should not take 3 days to get the tires balanced. I should not constantly need to repeat things to the service department.

Issues I've brought to the dealer:
-Seat depresses over time (they replaced the frame once, it still does it - they think entry/exist makes me hit the bar - but it depresses over time when Im just driving).
-Rust at 50 miles (normal per dealer). They offered to do a coating, and said they'd follow up once they knew when they could do it - never followed up.
-When not using the climate control the HVAC system is just running the heater well above the tempt selected manually (Ie, if its 65 out and I have the temp w/o AC on and the air is set to 62 the truck is uncomfortably warm since the heater is running). They said this is normal. I took videos of it doing it. Basically means the AC has to run constantly unless it's actually cold outside...and I live in FL.
-Steering, they did the TSB without any fuss on this. It took a while, they said they had complications but wouldnt expand on what.
-Current issue of the shaking.

Annoyances I've mentioned to them:
-The bluetooth vs phone vs radio volume
-My truck randomly "chimes" at me when decelerating, no lights/warnings but it does it often enough I am worried.

TLDR: The truck is not safe at interstate speeds and I shouldn't need to work this hard. For what I paid, this is just becoming a headache to keep.
Sell it.

I put my 37s on my jt off my jk and it was all over the place . Changing lanes was very tense and was squirrely following wheel paths on worn pavement . I lowered my pressure by 2 pounds , yes only 2 and it went away.

very possible some balancing weights fell off. see if the rebalance fixes it.
After all this read I'm thinking that it may very well be a wheel balance problem. They more than likely removed the left front wheel to gain access for the TSB. In the process of removing the wheel they might have drug a wheel weight off if the wheel contacted the rotor. Just my two cents.

well, I am back from my NC trip. The vibration is still present, but "better" than it was. Still not OK considering I had no vibration before the TSB. During the trip, the JT developed a pretty good hesitation when cruising and light throttle is applied. It's most prominent in third gear (manual), and was bad enough in the mountains I would downshift into 2nd.

I got a pretty good offer from Vroom and a pretty good one from Carvana. I'm going to give it a day or two and make a final decision.

@Xxtavixx I'm on the same boat right now. My JTR has been amazing for the 26k I've put on it.

Minus the fact that it's been in the shop since 4/12, YES, 4/12.
I brought it in for a rear window leak, locker light, and steering TSB.

For what it's worth; My window issue started on Oct. 20, 2020, locker light just a few weeks later.

I finally got so fed up with hearing that the window was on the way for 5 months that I dropped it off at the dealership with a note saying, "Call when done, period."

Word from the dealership: Window replaced 4/19, TSB done a week later, and axle light early May.
I've been waiting on the axle to arrive and get installed since.

Final word is the axle is set to arrive this week and to be installed w/in 48hrs of said delivery.

JeepCares has stepped up and provided some financial compensation (& completely unprompted by me). So, thank you Jeep Cares.

All of that said, I need my truck to work and not having it has already set me projects back by almost 1 month.

I'm so used to not having it that I'm tempted to just buy another truck and have the dealer give me a price on the JTR.

ugh, that sounds horrible. I'm sorry. These trucks are too expensive for the problems they appear to be having. It's a bit scary reading the forum how many people have the same issues.

I got a better-than-I-paid offer from Vroom, so I submitted the documents to see what happens.

Post the dealership name, we should black list this kind non attentive dealers!

I started hearing a click clack from my steering after a three day trip through the texas hill country. I had my wife turn the wheel while i was under. There is visual movement from the gear box mount to the frame. Now i have an appointment with my dealer and i dont know why im already feeling like im in for a battle. Idk maybe im just feeling pessimistic because of previous dealings with other dealers. We’ll see.
