Mb Quart was great stuff years ago but these kits are a little steep.

follow up with my 6x9 experience. I mounted the MB quarts and lost practically all bass that i normally hear. I kind of expected that when i removed the bass 'port' cutting out the template. That being said, mids and highs are phenomenal and i can hear everything with all doors off doing 60mph+ now.

I play mine around 28-30 on the volume knob factory 5" cheapie factory stereo.

bass: even (sometimes two down if an r&b song comes on or Knocked Loose)
Mids: plus one
Treble: Plus six
Balance/Fade: Center.

Ill put either two 8"s or a single 12 eventually to gain back those lows.

TL:DR Mb quarts 6x9 im happy with overall.
Did you connect to both leads on each side of soundbar or just one per side?

The original intro discount was really good. Also not the same MQ Quart from what I understand, though I hear the original company is back :)

Systems look very impressive. May need to add one of these to my future mod list.

it was a straight plug and play, each speaker plugged into the factory loom on either side of the soundbar. the smaller speaker connector was not used, i just zip tied to the loom to keep it out of the way.

my jeep was totalled and i made sure to grab these before it went to salvage. I can send pics if you want to see the speaker connections.

Thank you for the offer of pics, but needed. I was just curious how you connected the speakers. I'm currently using both factory plugs on each side but seem to be lacking a bit in the mid range. Think I'll unplug the smaller side and see how that sounds.

I've been looking into the MBQ 6x9 upgrade. Are you saying that you bridged both the 3.5" and 4" speaker wires together on each side and ran them to the 6x9?

When I contacted MBQ about how these speakers connect to the factory system, they told me:
It will be dependent on what one of our systems you use, with our amplified system you will be using the 4 inch connector, with just the speaker upgrade no amplifiers you will want to use the 3.5 inch speakers connector. Some of the original 6x9 kits do not include that adapter but I can usually have one sent out to you free of charge.

This. As someone that used to install back in the mid 90's to mid 00's MB Quart was a good company. One of the top brands as far as construction and sound quality. Then they were bought out by Maxxsonics. Manufacturing went to China and quality went to complete shit.

Not for nothing, but there are much better options for speakers when wanting to spend $700. Focal comes to mind.

Yes, I currently have them bridged on both sides.

Anyone get engine noise in speaks after install? I have the Stinger Heigh 10”, so wired direct rca from hu to amp. Sounds like rear speaks, so gonna try swapping rcas at amo to see if noise moves to front speaks.

Just arrived. This is the kit less the subwoofers. Today was about 5hrs of getting the dash speakers in and the wiring in.
Tomorrow need to drill out for the sound bar speakers, test, tune and button it up.

First impressions are fair. The instructions are mostly there, but you have to go through a couple manuals, and I didn’t like the power wire running through the floor grommet so i ran it over the windscreen. Will check tho as I don’t want to cause a leak there either. Also the plate for the amp is not properly sized for the amps. Its a mm to small. And its nice and nutserted, but off so I could only do 2-3 on each.

Otherwise the speakers and wires and grills are all nice. The harness doesn’t plug back into the factory speaker plugs, you route new lines with factory plugs and its all fabric loomed like factory as well. It really didn’t add too much time to do that bit. Everything has to be ripped out anyway.

Everything looks decent and while I didn’t get the subwoofer, the kit has it all wired up for the third amp. So its a plug and play affair should I want to.

Will check back once all done.

If I’m not mistaken, i just found a spot that avoided pinch points, and just routed down to the passenger kick pannel and under the door trim and carpet split, and out to the amps under the passenger seat. Theres a lot of space to play with.

Ha! Replied to ya there. And thanks! I get such a kick out of them myself. It’s bold with the red and purple, but damnit, it’s mine and one of a kind!

Can you tell me how you terminated the power and ground for the amps? since there are 2 or 3 with the complete system i am thinking of mounting a small buss bar under the mounting bracket in case i ever have to replace an amp.

Thanks for asking, and yes, can use.
I believe the harness had a shared ground lead, as I don’t remember having a buss bar.
I believe I had one terminal to a ground stud listed in the manual. Which I believe was under the passenger kick panel.

took a couple new pics.
Routing under the kick panel, power from battery to the cowl and behind the hinge and under the dash, and another of the amps and harness under the seat.
