I asked my dealer about these last August. They said they show no tires in 255/85R-17. I tried because they were offering the 4 tires for three deal. My guess is if it doesn't show up in mopar.com, they can't get it.

(I ended up buying through a local tire shop. I'm 100% happy with these tires.)

They can order in the Baja Boss but in that size range they only list the 35/12.5/17 size. They can get Mickey Thompson, just might not want to for whatever reason.

https://www.mopar.com/en-us/services/tire-results.html?dealerCode=52488#/TireWidget/TireDetails/MP31309001/false?searchType=size&tireSize=X&brands=MICKEY THOMPSON&pageNo=1&width=35&aspectRatio=12.50&rimSize=17&wtb=false
I had the same issue last year when I got mine. Mine are the 35x12.5s, but all I did was get a cost from DT and then give it to the dealership, they then gave me a quote by subtracting out 1 tire. I said I needed more time and took that quote back to DT, they honored the quote.

My local DT guys are really great and you can see if maybe they'll work an order out with the price that the 35x12.5s are at. Even then you'd be saving some cash once they sub out 1 tire.

I sold my BFG KO3's in 315/70R17 and bought a set of these.

WOW!

I'm honestly glad I did. The skinnier profile makes a noticeable difference. Less road noise, less rolling resistance. The day I had these installed, we had a lot of rain. No issues at all.

The new KO3 is a good tire. But IMHO, the MT BB skinny 35 is just that much better.

LOL True. For the tread depth and blockiness, I'm still amazed at the quiet ride. Minimal driver fatigue.

On the stock Mojave wheels, they tuck up nicely and the extra height fills some of the space of the higher fenders. All combined with the RokBlokz mudflaps do a decent job at keeping the sides from getting too much road spray.

$2400?!?!? I think I paid almost a grand less than that a month and a half ago for four. I took a chance on this site, and it worked out. Only used them once so this isn't necessarily an endorsement.

That is a great resource! Discount Tire price-matched them (actually $2 less per-tire), so it worked out very well for me 😁.

Great looking ride man!
I just traded up from a 2023 Willys in Sting Gray, to a 2025 Mojave in 41, and I'm super stoked. I wanted to make the switch to 255/85R17 with my previous ride, but I'm determined to make it happen quickly with the Mojave.
Any noticeably different driving characteristics that you find worth mentioning since making the switch? Mine came with Falken Wildpeak AT3s from the dealer. Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Got 3+k on At4w from few months ago before going to Moab in September. Ride real nice.

Went to 35-11.5, 17 on our 21-jlu 3.0d rubicon wheels from the Oem-Falkin T01's 65+k, got real loud w/50%ish tread left.

Just ordered same tires for 21-3.0d gladi, for the winter at least. Our new to us with 16k (35k now). It came used with 35.Ɨ12.5, 20s. nippon grapplers. Did some intersting sliding hitting the gas on freeway 50+ due to the rain has arrived in Seattle. With the cool fuel 20" wheels, 13"+ tread footprint.

Final straw, 35mph - 90 degree corner at 40 and i was drifting......

Thanks man, I just have the front leveled 1.5" (Teraflex) but otherwise stock suspension. Eventually I want to lift it another inch or so all round (maybe Rubicon springs?)
Pretty late reply, but do you rub any with this setup? I have a ā€˜25 Nighthawk and just put a 1.5ā€ level. Plan on running these tires when I need a new set here soon

Actual measured OD of the 255/85R17 Baja Boss AT is 34.6"

FYI, this size, 255/85R17, was not available in the KM2. The KM2 was available in 255/80R17, which was only 33.3". I ran them on my JK before changing to the Baja Boss AT.
Ok, good to know! knew they were 255“s and 80 something. I like that the Bajsa Boss is 34.6. It definitely puts it on my radar when my JL gets ready for new shoes. It will be a long time before the Kenda“s wear out on my Gladiator.

Anybody REGRET running this size on there rig with 4.10 gears?

Read the "issues" thread, but I would assume that those are isolated failures with a particular manufacturing lot.

Lots of positive reviews on these tires and considering a set or 255/85r17's for my Sport S tow max. I do not plan to re-gear and not ever going to 37's.

I'm currently running 285/70r17 BFG KO2 AT's and also considered a 285/75r17 due to gear ratio, but figured the change between the sizes is negligible. Occasionally tow a tear drop camper.

Live in N. Michigan and like most, 8th gear seems to be dropped when in a headwind, towing, or up any kind of grade as it is.

Thanks!

I’m running these on 3.73 gears. Absolutely love them. Don’t see 8th gear all that often unless I manually shift into it, even with the Tazer programmed to the tire size. I think it would be a perfect fit with 4.10s

I've been thinking that may be the case too - thank you
