That's your opinion. Most vehicle owners never even open the hood or know what an engine looks like.
Wasn't necessary to remove it? How about it wasn't necessary to HAVE it in the first place?

LOL - ya don't need to remind me it's been there for years - I've had my share of Jeep vehicles, including several with the 3.6

Seriously, having worked in the industry since the 70s, most people have no idea what things look like under the hood, or even how to check oil (and some of that info comes from IHP troopers)
Seems like only the young want things prettied up. Pretty damned boring at car shows LOL

Seriously, it's an expense, it's weight, it's design/engineering that's not necessary for THIS engine. And it's a TRUCK.

Want ugly? Look under the hood of a Bronco.
well obviously many share my opinion... lol

Lack of supplies is the answer EVERYONE is using…just keep relying on non domestic sources for everything and let the rest of the world have us by the balls… god forbid we use the resources available right here in the USA.
We are a country of waste and throw-away.
If something isn't needed for operating (as far as under the hood, that is) why have it there? Think of the petrol used in making it, the design engineering, the time to make, stock, ship, install....... and then when the vehicle is wrecked, totaled, where do these end up? Buried in a landfill.
These engines are extremely clean without that cover. MOPAR did a good job. It's got smooth, nice lines bare, without cover.

Is this ugly? Granted, it's NOT Jeep in any way, but still, it's clean, uncluttered and no cover is needed.

Obviously the V8 looks a little better but this was my 07 charger.

And the 3.6 is really a clean, sculpted engine with no cover. People like you and I will see these engines, but honestly, think of the owners of the majority of Jeep vehicles with the 3.6 - how many will ever really even see the engine?
Wrangler and Gladiator owners will but we're mostly function over form - otherwise we'd not own bricks.
Our bumpers don't sleekly mold into the body, things are square, the sides of the vehicles are flat, it resembles something from the 1940s and we're worried about how an engine looks HAHAHA

Wrangler/Gladiator owners tend to be more DIY than the average vehicle buyer/owner, as such, think of the times that cover would come off and - maybe - go back on.

My comment was not necessarily focused on the thread topic as much as it was the previous post. I too have removed my cover because your correct it’s a nice motor! Not as nice as the picture you posted however!

I dig it man, where did you get the paint?
You can have any color mixed up in any type of paint or even powder coat powders these days. There are no limits. I even had paint mixed up and put into spray cans to be a perfect match for my 70 Javelin vinyl dash pad. I bet he could even get that mixed in a high-heat paint. I can drive 20 minutes and get any color matched in any type of paint.

I get all of my color match paint from automotivetouchup.com. Can get in multiple sizes from sticks to rattle cans even larger volume for full sprayers. All factory codes. Can look up by year etc. It took a lot of elbow grease to do that manifold due to shaving some of the unnecessary mold tabs down but came out great. I kept mine Flat. All of the engine bay was a flat paint. Thought it looked better than going glossy like the body paint. Plus under the hood didn't have any clearcoat anyway so it matched. I have done a few for others with full gloss and came out fantastic.

It's on the to do list but who knows if I will get to it on the JT. More concerned about other options but if I get board who knows.

PROOf beyond a doubt! Gave both my engine ā€œBeauty Coversā€ to fellow Gladiator owners wanting one on their 2022 Jeeps. While packing the last one to ship Friday this label on the cover fell off. So all arguments are over it is for looks and does look good if you want a cover, part number is on tag. ….Jack

Have a ā€˜22 Sport and purchase the engine ā€œbeauty coverā€ cause I’m OCD like that, but now realizing I don’t have the bolts (and some type of washer possibly?) to mount it. Anyone with a ā€˜20 or ā€˜21 who has them and wouldn’t mind shipping? Happy to cover the cost of course. Thanks.
