I didn’t want to hi-jack any threads. I just traded a 2020 Rubicon for a 2021 Rubicon. It came with the Mopar CAI and I didn’t realize it until I hit the gas on the way home. Lol. I noticed the new sound right away. I didn’t even test drive the 2021 because I was driving the 2020 for a year and half. Is anyone here running the Mopar CAI and an aftermarket exhaust? What is a good combo under $1,000?

Just checking, but when referencing the pictures you just posted in the other thread - you don't have the Mopar CAI kit.

Authentic Mopar Performance Cold Air Intake 3.6L Engine - 77072433AC | Mopar Online Parts

You should have this in your hood if you did:

Edit: Pop the hood let's see what's going on. I actually don't see this kit as being compatible with the 2022 so they might have changed where the intake goes - or they just haven't updated the site yet.
I do not have the cut out but I do have CAI. It was listed at $525 on the window sticker. I looked at it already. It is there. I’ll get a pic in the morning.

I have the Mopar performance intake, ported and 1/2 shaft throttle body, Corsa Sport Dump exhaust. It's a ok combo. I wanted sound because I have a manual transmission and it's nice to hear what you're doing. I got what I asked for. If I had an automatic transmission I would probably leave everything stock.

Did they install the washable filter or leave in the paper filter?

I installed the Mopar CAI on my truck. It does change the sound. I did not install the hood cutout. There is a small tube that carries air from the front area to the air box intake. The hood cutout allows more cold air in, which is supposed to help with combustion. I left the exhaust stock. If I was to change it, I would look at AWE.

I’m running the Mopar CAI, minus the hood vent (Doesn’t work with the Mojave hood) and an AWE Trail exhaust. I’m very happy with this setup. I initially used the dry panel filter that came with the CAI kit, but have since changed to an AFE Pro 7 deep filter that takes advantage of the the deeper factory airbox. As for the exhaust, I’m in an automatic and it sounds great! It was a bit loud for me when I first installed it, but now after 750 miles it’s settled down and is perfect to my ears... sound being subjective. I highly recommend the AWE systems.

Thank you for noting the break-in sound mellowing of our systems. The heat cycling of the steel and the fine carbon layer that builds up in the tubing settles down the tone.

I have the stock airbox with afe dry filter, AEV snorkel along with the Magnaflow crawler exhaust. Overall happy with the sound at mist rpm’s and slight power bump in mpg. I would saw the three have me .5mpg to 1mpg. All mods done within weeks of each other. Might change the muffler for a Dynomax Super Turbo, maybe. Sometimes it gets loud when towing long hills.

Thanks for the replies. I’m honestly torn on which way I want to go. I don’t do trails every weekend, but often enough that I don’t want to damage an expensive exhaust system. I do tow a lot, so a dual side exhaust appeals to me. Almost too many options. Lol

Compared to the JL/JLU, the placement of the outlets is a lot more trail-friendly for most people. JL's like pancaking the stock mufflers. (You could always remove the tips on the AWE system as well for off-roading or get a conversion kit to swap to the over-axle Trail outlet when wheeling).

Any plans to make a dual trail edition? I think the duals emit a better tone but I personally dont like the tips. Maybe I could sell my Magnaflow

Nah, the Trail edition is designed for minimalist profile while maximizing performance. We have a couple of customers who simply take off the tips of the dual for more rugged play.
