Hey all. I’ve been reading this forum since it was created. I’m close to pulling the trigger now, so figured I would create an account.

I test drove a Gladiator Rubicon and a Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon back to back today. Honestly I was more impressed by the Wrangler. I’ve waited so long for a Jeep truck and I’m a little disappointed. My heart is still set on the Gladiator but don’t want to make a mistake by passing up on the JLUR. It was miles ahead of my JK and very impressive.

To make matters worse, the GM promised to match any deal I find on a Gladiator Rubicon when I pull the trigger next month. I was going to wait on Gator but leaning toward Punkin now.

Any words of wisdom??

I did the same thing a couple of months ago and also liked the ride of the Wrangler Unlimited better -- the Gladiator wandered on the Fwy and the Wrangler did not, and was more familiar to me to boot. But, I drove a JT again later and it was a better experience. It did not wander, the steering was tight and just fine, and -- I bought that one, and dropped the tire pressure by 10 psi to 37 all around. Quite happy with the JT.

Spend ur money the way u wanna spend it. I have driven a JLUR w/ 37’s and honestly it drove better than my JT. But the JL can’t haul or tow what my JT can so i am happy with my decision. If u want a jeep truck then the JT is for u , if u want a bad azz rig that can’t haul or tow, then the JL is ur destiny

Look at what you're going to use the Gladiator for and ask yourself it the Wrangler fits the bill. If it does, then go ahead and get a Wrangler. I've got a JLU myself and I love it. It's just that I could use a truck a lot more.

Tires from the dealer and even tire shops are way overinflated. 47 psi helps hit epa goals, but was crazy high. 33 cold is plenty. riding out of the dealership, the jt was super squirrely until aired proper

If a JL fit your needs better, by all means buy a JL. They’re both awesome!

Yeah this is huge. Go test drive a JT with 32-33psi cold and see what you think, I don't know if the JL also are ovetinflated, but check that too.

You done f*cked up A-Aron. You shouldn't ever have test driven the JL in the first place. That's why I don't sleep with supermodels. Lol

I went in with the intention of getting a JL and walked away with a JT......both are awesome but JL's are all over the place, thought this was more unique and useful, but you've gotta get what's right for you.

Thanks for all the comments. I was up late last night searching articles and autotrader comparing the JLU and the JT. I would be lying if I said money wasn’t a factor. There are a lot of 2019 JLURs on dealer lots so I would think the deals would be better. But finding a dealer close to home who will match any deal I find on a JTR (several doing 5-7% under invoice out there) is awesome. No playing pricing games and such is very appealing.

I am pretty sure I will end up in a JT, just have to go through the whole process of talking myself into it again. Lol.

I’ve had a lot of Jeeps of varying utility. This will be a first that completed the full Swiss Army knife with a bed and higher towing capacity.

It’s all dependent on your needs! If you don’t need a truck, well....
