Mounted Awnings

I ordered the overland vehicle systems 270 awning and I should have it sometime late next week. Once its installed I'll snap some pictures. It will work out nicely on my custom fabricated rack & RTT set up. It should have about 7' clearance under the awning.

@GlacierGladiator Have you gotten your OVS 270 awning yet? Mine was in the batch slated for 7/22 arrival but have heard nothing from OVS yet......

Mine was shipped Friday and I got an email with a tracking number. I would call them and see where yours is at.

Got a reply from OVS and my awning shipped out yesterday. With luck it may arrive here in Maine this Friday.

WHY the 1X on rack?

The side of the rack is not vertical and canopy design requires vertical mount. Simple fix is board thicker at the top u-bolted to the rack vertical bars.

Got a reply from OVS and my awning shipped out yesterday. With luck it may arrive here in Maine this Friday.

Mine should arrive Wednesday hopefully just in time for my Thursday overlanding trip.

OVS 270 just arrived!

Got my new OVS 270 mounted up to the Alucab cap. This is a really nice awning. Impressed with the build quality. Deploys and stows easily. There is a lot of shaded real estate created. No interference with any of the cap hatches. Pretty stoked with the purchase!

Got my awning mounted up too. It got 7' of head clearance. This thing is going to be a nice addition to my RTT & annex room for the next overlanding trip

I don't think it is a good idea to secure the front arms open tying off on the extension flap. Your strap should be going to the stout loop on the end of the arm. The flap is a separate attachment using one of the small ropes.

Hey thanks for pointing that out. Since it was my first set up I did not catch that. Wish the instructions would have been better at point that out. Could save alot of people's awnings in windy conditions.

I also got one of the OVS Nomadic 270 awnings recently. Mine is mounted to a Frontrunner tray atop a ZROADZ rack. I've only used it once, but I'm loving this awning so far. Here's a pic with one of the walls installed. The walls really enclose a lot of space!

@bradxn, Is that Wall #1 you have set up in your pic? Does that have a door? Can't tell in the pic.... or is Wall #1 two separate pieces of which you only have one set up?
