I’ve never seen above 26 ever
I run the Banks pedal monster now and love it.
I did see 26mpg average on a trip we took recently where I drive around 60-65 the whole way. That’s the only time.
Uh……..What? So you’ve never seen above 26 MPG but you’ve recently seen a 26MPG average? I’ve never gotten a 26MPG average on a trip. I can get 25-30 on the highway but once I get to a destination whether it’s driving around town or off-road my average comes down to between 21 and 24. If I only consider the interstate average, then sure 26MPG. I think your mileage is probably fine.

You also didn’t disclose you’re running a pedal monster. That’s certainly not helping mileage. ?

Like I said before in the original post, all of this started about a week ago when I filled up, changed my air filter, and then took it into the dealer for my second oil change. The trip where I saw 26mpg was over a month ago. I’ve been running pedal monster for almost a year now and it didn’t affect mileage much if any that I noticed.

A combined average of that is pretty good, but regardless you’re reporting a delta from your past experience so that’s what matters. I see noticeable drop in mileage in winter from winter blend diesel. Other have noted that here as well. If that recently changed over where you live that could be it as others have said.

I keep an eye on DPF state and regens with a ScanGauge. I haven’t noticed any major affect on mileage from active regens but I don’t track mileage that granularly. They all get averaged in. I try to avoid in-city driving with my truck so I don’t do a lot of active regens. Obviously it uses fuel to do these. If you’re not mostly putting in highway miles, you’re going to be constantly filling the DPF and doing regens. I notice this happening rapidly around town and off road. On the interstate passive regen takes care of it. These trucks are much better on the open road.

I’d still take it in and have them check it for codes. My last oil change left me stranded because the filter wasn’t properly torqued by the tech. These trucks are really sensitive to improper filter changes and they don’t always throw a code. They’re seriously sensitive to air flow issues as well, both too little and too much pressure. I would never run an aftermarket filter element. I’ve never had good luck with anything other than OEM air filters on any vehicle. It was a big risk installing the snorkel but it seems to work well. I’ve got the Sy-Klone prefilter. My dealer couldn’t find any TSB that makes the ram intake magically work. But I would triple check the air filter. It’s easy to get them seated improperly and it only takes a tiny misalignment to get a leak. People have demonstrated that the truck won’t run right with a leak at the filter box or it will throw codes.

All great information. I did buy a Mopar air filter and fuel filter. I always stick with OEM as well. I will double check the air filter and see if that makes any difference. I do believe that Minnesota has already switched to winter blend fuel, and that is most likely what has happened. My Gladiator is a 2022, and I made a point of not driving it last winter in the salt and snow, and I won’t this winter either, so I may not have noticed loos of mpg due to winter blend fuel because I don’t drive it in the winter. I drive it off the lot in September and the snow started flying in November.

I have never seen anything about like 22-24mpg and that's with stock wheels/tires. Now with my heavy 38x13.5s and 20s I'm lucky to see 20mpg.

California doesnt get much winter fuel but even going to nevada ive never seen a drop that was noticeable from fuel. I do try to run the 76 renewable high cetane diesel as much as possible.

Speed and terrain are the MPG differences I actually see. Speed is the biggest. At 80mph your most likely to get 19-20 if its relatively flat with big tires. Slow that to 60 and youll see 23+.

Stock mine got 26 regularly and then with the tires dropped to 22 (flat ground).

I average 21 around town and 24 on the highway on 37’s. I hope this diesel lasts a long time or they upgrade to the Hurricane very soon.
