Excellent build! And this is coming from one of German/Scandinavian descent, thank you for organizing the parts and links so nicely :)

My question: What are the advantages/reasoning behind piecing your lift kit together the way you did versus buying an all inclusive kit like RK or JKS?

I ask because I am mid research for a lift myself and man can it go either cheap or super damn expensive real quick.

thanks!

When we got our JT when no one had lift kits yet so a company reached out to us to lift our JT. We Ended up being the Protoptye kit for them, and them and we were running their pre-production kit until a month ago. We now have the production kit on and it has had no problems. We have trail tested this kit on several trails. As far as why we added some things to it is because with all of the extra weight in the back it sagged a little bit and I wanted to correct that. With our current setup we can go anywhere , we are planning upgrading more parts to see if it really makes a difference or not and then share our findings with you guys.

As far as upgrading readylift parts to something else we don’t know if it’s worth it or not. That is why we want to do that. It also depends on what you want to do with your truck, and where you want to go. So far, what we have works for on the trail along with loading the back up for an Overlanding trip. We will keep you posted as we learn more with different upgrades.

Thank you for the expedite reply! This makes sense and I am glad you guys were integral to the development process.

For me it's much of the same as you do, overlanding with family and dogs, plus some difficult trails in which I'll need the articulation.

Please continue to keep us up to date!

Do you have any photos of how you got the rear M220 skid to work? Was told it would interfere with the rear sway bar.

How do you like those DV8 rails? They’re expensive but I am struggling to find something that functions both a proper step and protects the tub.

we are happy with them, but havent had the change to smash them on things yet, we tired on our last trip, but our JT was too high, so we gotta try again... They seem to be solid

How about as a step? Do they drop low enough to be functional? Your wife is probably the same height as mine.
