Good morning!
Woke up this morning and started the ride. I was greeted with multiple errors/warnings. They were:
4x4 service temporarily unavailable, Service ABS system, and Service Traction Control.

I have access to a high-end SnapOn scanner, which I'll get this afternoon. HOWEVER, there seems to be a commonality in which these systems all fail at the same time: wheel speed sensor.
Of course, I'll scan and get codes and look for communications. But, beforehand, I did some research, and it seems that a broken wire/sensor will often cause all of these.

So, based on that, I started looking at speed sensor replacements. I found rear ones available on the MOPAR site. But anyone know if the rear are different from the front (guessing they are). Also, with the rears only costing 10.00 each, I'm thinking to just replace all of the sensors at the same time?
Thoughts on that (as long as the scanning and further testing leads me to this route).
Thanks in advance!

Well, I'll scan it when my tenant comes home this evening. See what the big box says...

Definitely scan the codes, will pin point the problem location.

Mine was driver rear, critter chewed the wires on the main harness side of the connector on top of the frame. I bought a speed sensor I didn't need and the correct side of the connector with 6" of wire and butt spliced/ heat shrink combo with a heat shrink tube over each splice.
Blame the soy based wire coating.

Mine was passenger front. Intermittent for months before i figured it out. It was not the sensor itself, but the wire upstream of where the sensor wire plugged in/connected. I highly reccomend wiggling wires before just replacing sensors. After wiggling and having the ABS etc. lights come on. I started unwrapping the cloth tape in the suspected area, and the wire just pulled apart. It looked like the wire had been 95% cut through from the factory, a completly clean break on both wires as i pulled the tape. I used high quality butt connectors to put them back together and no problems since. I am not the only one that has had the exact same experience.

Not that it couldn't be wheel speed sensors, but the Christmas tree of codes is common to battery/batteries failing too. It's start by load testing them as it's free at any parts store.

Ok, here is where we are at, along with a warning..
1. Multiple codes found all indicating ABS issues, loss of comms with right rear speed sensor, etc.
2. Batteries are MOPAR, both about a year old. Both batteries test out fine. 12.5 volts at rest, under load both acceptable.

Now, here is the warning regarding these speed sensors. Please take heed with my experience! The rear sensors are different than the front one. But they are swappable left/right. Having said that...
Good luck getting these darn things! I tried my local CarQuest: He can't get them. Period. Ok, so I went to NAPA. They can't get in until April 4th. I also looked at Rock Auto, same time frame). O'Reilly AUtomotive, April 2nd, but about 20.00 more each. Autozone, same thing.

Warning: Be wary of OEMMOPARPARTSDIRECT. I saw these listed on that site. I'm pretty particular on web sites. This was registered correctly. They have a Elmhurst, IL. address (Chicago inner suburb). I found these on their site for about 10.00 each. That was the cheapest I found, and they said they were OEM. I ordered 2, and requested/paid for EXPEDIATED SHIPPING for an extra 35.00. The site said they would ship OVERNIGHT. Great! I got notice from UPS this morning that my label was just printed. There was NO WAY I was getting these today (I live in St. Louis area).

I called the place. They confirmed my order. But then they stated that they order the parts in, and ship direct to me. The shipping guy didnt notice the expediated shipping. So I won't get them until Monday FML. They DID refund me 20.00. But come on, get it right!

Also, if you do a little google sluthing, this OEMPMOPARPARTSDIRECT is located at a CDJR dealership in Elmhurst, IL. Looks like they have a side hustle going...SMH.
