Even if you don't plan on towing, get the Tow Package. It includes better cooling, bigger alternator, and the hitch zoom camera...

Kevin
This. Especially if you get diesel which seems prone to overheating.
I live in FL and still ordered the cold weather package. Primarily for remote start but those trips home from the beach when you've had a little too much sun can get chilly if you're driving with parts missing.

What is the likelihood of this happening in your opinion?

Roll out is normally slow with radios. I read on the Warngler forum they thought it wouldnt come until 2023 at the earliest, which I believe is their 5 year refresh.

"This is not correct, ALL JT's come w Dana 44's."

Looks to me the Max Tow option includes the Dana 44s...

I didn't get the Sport Max tow because my wife - correctly so - insisted on body color fenders and roof. When we ordered, that was not possible with max tow.
To me, personally, the blue just looks better with all one color. Funny thing - the sales people at two dealerships agreed once it arrived.
Max tow would be nice - but I don't regret not getting it - I prefer the body color fenders and roof and I've towed just fine.

Hey Jeep truckers,

Looking at building a JT and wondering what options are must haves from the factory and why.
Specifically:
-the bed outlet- i'm disappointed it is only 400 watts, but from what i have researched here in the threads, it is quite difficult to add later. I can always add a separate mounted inverter later for more wattage, but is the factor bed outlet worth it to those that have used it?
- LED lights- I am thinking about retrofitting these later and not necessarily ordering them from the factory at the factory price
- manual tranny is a must for me

Can someone tell me the benefit or usefulness of the models that come with the wide axles (i.e. rubicon)

Thank you.

LED lighting group is a must have, the halogen bulbs are garbage!

It was a must for me. I didn't even think about it. My LED are far better than any halogens I've ever had.

There is a lot of speculation about all sorts of things. Extreme Recon package, 4Xe, V8, and other fun things that would be great. UConnect5 has been in production in a number of other vehicles in the stable, and just hasn't made it to the Wrangler/Gladiator yet. I'm not aware of any other models still coming with UConnect4, but haven't looked. With Bronco hitting the streets with a much better system, Wrangler has to do something to compete, and it's literally the least they can do. The cost delta for that upgrade is negligible to where it's likely MORE expensive to maintain the UConnect4 installs than it would be to upgrade. Additionally, they need to do SOMETHING to motivate the subset of the market holding out for something new to upgrade or pull the trigger. It would look pretty bad, even in the current hobbled climate, to do nothing at all from '21 to '22, and it's the lowest hanging fruit beyond colors. I'd be curious to know why people on the other side of this coin think UConnect5 is NOT expected for MY22. I can't think of a single reason. That said, I've been wrong before.

My personal ranking for order of likelihood of the speculated changes I can think of:
- colors (guaranteed)
- UConnect5 (all but guaranteed)
- Extreme Recon (test mules have been photographed)
- 4Xe (Jeep has said this is a certainty, it's just a matter of timing)
- V8 (cooling issues with existing drivetrains pretty much rule this out all together IMO)

TLDR; I'm pretty confident.

Interesting take. I view it as the exact opposite pretty much. Due to the pandemic, they dont have do anything to maintain sells whatsover. No one is going to the Broncos in 2022 because no one will be able to buy one. They are backed up basically a years+ worth of preorders already. Thats why dealerships are marking them up ~$25-50k above MSRP.

Additionally, because its so hard to get chips, it is going to be easier to obtain the chip that is already mass produced as opposed to converting to a new chip on a mass scale.

One last note, according to my research Wranglers have historically always been the last vehicle to get electronic upgrades and wranglers are allegedly 1 step above gladiators in the pecking order....

I will be absolutely shocked if UC5 is a MY22 option. Maybe they add it mid or late year in some trims though.

Hmm. I hope not. The summary and my Easy Build sheet of my Sport S Max Tow both picture body color fenders and not the black ones. The top is black as it's the three piece hard top.
Dang. Since I'm getting Gecko Green, I really hope they are body color...

- LED Lights have been suggested, but I seem to recall a ruling was passed a year or so ago that severely limited the aftermarket LED options. Maybe even completely eliminated them... Look into that before you act on the aftermarket LED suggestions. If I'm right, it's factory or none. It's possible you can put the kit together legally with OEM parts, but you'll have to check for the cost effectiveness of that.
I think what you are referring to are the led replacement bulbs. They are super bright and the halogen housings don't control the light properly. Several companies make a dot replacement light that replaces the entire thing not just the bulb

No, with most having colored fenders you can keep those as the "lip" on the fender for the max tow part is separate from the painted portion but I do know you'll have to get an automatic transmission and it will have to be the gas engine, no diesel.
