My son helped me pick the top up and put on a borrowed set of saw horses. And this morning I got the driver's side latches installed. They seem to work pretty good.

No pictures today, but I got the passenger side of the top made up and welded together. Hopefully tomorrow I can have my son help me put it on the Jeep for a test fit.

Test fit day! I absolutely love it. I have to make the tailgate yet, along with lots of little things and fine tuning.

No major updates. We got a "new to us" rescue and he is a handful, so leaving him unattended is not really an option right now, lol! I will hopefully get some more done this weekend.

Yuppers! He is an amazing dog. He has his fair share of quirks, most likely from his previous "life", but he is a big beefy baby.

Really impressive!! What a lot of work! Makes $4k for a Smart Cap look like a deal after seeing how much work is involved. Can't wait to see the finished product.

That looks fantastic!
Thank you. I wanted it to match the lines and angles of the Jeep, and be purpose built for what we do. There will be a lot of little things going on once I get a little further along, which I'll do my best to show via photos.

Haha! Agreed, but I knew it would be a lot of work, and I couldn't justify spending that kind of $ on something that did not check all the boxes. I have a buddy with an RSI, and I didn't like how the lines of the cap didn't match the lines of his soft top. The CX tops are nice, but only if you have a hard top, IMO. That, and I wanted a lot of ventilation due to traveling with the dogs. I have yet to find a top that offers front and rear ventilation, with the exception of the screened back window on my Softopper. I will also be adding some sort of grating to the windows for more security (keeping the dogs in) while parked for the night.

Thank you. He's our second rescue, and despite being a handful (he's roughly 18 months old), he is such a a sweetheart.

Time for a collaboration with MULES to build a production line for your aluminum version and his fiberglass popup version. Add some more competition to the saturated overland market.
