Soft top on no rear window and no doors in the summer, nice to have the shade from the top. Once fall hits the top and doors come off and stay that way through spring. Hard top is quick on and off with a lift and doors are nothing at all to put on and off. Never put the hinge bolts in.
Fun times!!!

My 2021 JT has the factory soft top, so I open that up and take the scenic route home via country and gravel roads any day it's nice.

Freedom panels come off every once in a while. With the Lone Peak camper I can't really take the top off anymore, but I don't need to because I have this to get the wind in my hair.

Unfortunately, I'm not blessed enough to get the "wind in my hair" anymore, but I ride this to get my "knees in the breeze".... it's kinda close...

And yes, it has 2 wheel drive. Throw a lever on the bike, the sidecar wheel engages with an actual driveshaft tied to the bike rear diff.

p.s. My pic was snapped for a bike mag, the photographer emailed me this shot.

In the Spring the panels are replaced with a Sunrider. But next year I plan on driving around for a day with the doors off--if we like it I will order Exceed's tube doors. Minnesota weather is not very predictable, but if we have a good stretch going I can leave them off for a few days anyway.

I just line up next to someone with a fast car, and they blow my doors off. Problem solved.

We can legally drive doorless in Texas.
It's legal across the US now. Pennsylvania was the last state holding out but they passed a law in 2024 permitting it. Being an equipment code is only applicable in the state your vehicle is registered in. Even if it were illegal in New Mexico for example you wouldn't have to put doors on your Jeep to drive to AZ.

That is good news
for the people who make foot pegs.

Although I have heard of some people
being ticketed for having their foot
outside the vehicle.

How else can one do
an Aussie wave with one's foot.

Some LEOs have no sense of humor.

3-4 months of naked. In Cincinnati, the weather doesn't cooperate the rest of the year.

I miss my TJ with its soft top and half doors. I’d spend the winters in AZ with the half doors off and summers with the rear window rolled up and sides zipped out. Now with my gladiator I never take the doors off-being I’m in Minnesota.

We can legally drive doorless in Texas.
Yep. In the early 90's I bought a bunch of parts from Japan (that you couldn't get in the U.S.) for my 1987 Suzuki Samurai Special Edition. I bought the windshield fold-down clamps (they put flat bars instead so you couldn't fold it..but still had hinges and a hood mounted footman's loop to tie down the windshield. Logical) I wanted to get the hinge kit to easily remove the doors, but couldn't afford it at the time; I couldn't afford to even pay attention back then... So I Dremeled the lower part of the hinge so I could pop the doors.

Windshield folded, doors off, it was almost Jeep-like. No side view or rear view mirrors. Couldn't see where I was, just where I'm going. While tooling in Texas on a nice day, a DPS officer lit me up. I pulled over. The officer said it was illegal for me to drive with the windshield down, he can't see my inspection/registration stickers. I said the TTC said the stickers had to be in the lower left corner, nothing about the windshield being upright so YOU can easily see them. My stickers meet TTC (Texas Transportation Code). Then he said it was illegal to drive without at least one side view mirror. Then he goes, "Where's your 3rd brake light ?". He was hunting. I said Samurai's don't HAVE them. Then he says "Why does this have truck plates ? This isn't a truck.". I said, "From factory, there are no rear seats, it's an option (I had them and paid extra). Registered as a 1/4 ton truck." (cheaper insurance back then, when SUV stood for Special Utility Vehicle, NOT Sport Utility vehicle). Special Utility Vehicles back then did not have to have 3rd brake lights, airbags, none of that safety crap. They were basically road legal farm vehicles.

He was in his patrol car for about 15 minutes, he was probably asking someone what he could charge me with. He comes back, give me my license and insurance and coldly says, "Have a nice day.". I just politely said, "You too." and put it in first.

Do we need side view mirrors in Texas ? Probably, it's logical. After that I just got an old mirror for a Schwinn and duct taped the snot out of it to the hinge. Couldn't see squat, shook like a hooker in the front row at church, but if there is a law about a mirror, I had one. Never got pulled over.

In Texas in addition to driving doorless
only one mirror is required.
A side mirror is only needed legally
if the center mirror view is obstructed.
You can also drive with the windshield down.
Texas is naked Jeep friendly.

I relocated my Wrangler TJ mirrors to the body
like Jeep should have done all along.

I generally keep everything on my Jeeps.

I used to go out with the sides and doors off my TJ, just the top up for shade. I quickly figured out that a 100 mile day in the Nevada desert will trash everything inside the Jeep. Not to mention feeling like you're sitting in a hair dryer during the summer. I still remember trying to blow everything out of the interior with an air hose.

I'm old now so yea, the top and doors stay on.
