Agreed. Just like the Gladiator. I think the base model JTs are ugly, but when I saw the Mojave I was in love. Similarly, I have zero interest in anything other than the Ranger Raptor.

That particular dealer chain are assholes of the first order. We bought our Bronco Sport from there because it was one of only 3 Yellowstone Heritage Limiteds within a couple hundred miles. One dealer ghosted us, another tried to sell us the vehicle with a markup, and Sheehy in Gaithersburg, MD honored the MSRP.

But outside of that, the typical dealer BS. The salesman was a steroid jockey who complained the entire time of being hungover, the finance manager was your typical slime ball... "Well sir, I worked really hard to get you the 2.9% from Ford Credit and it worked!" No, asshole, I have an 850 FICO. You didnt do diddly squat.

Then he tried to tell me the added warranty coverage was through Ford. Didn't have an issue knowing we'd be keeping it likely for 100K miles anyway. Found out a couple weeks later it wasn't so I cancelled it and had them refund FoMoCredit.

Had it not been for the fact it was a limited edition color and trim package, I would have walked out after meeting the hungover moron. Needless to say they didn't get top scores on their surveys.

I can't speak for the entire chain, but we have bought four vehicles from Sheehy Ford in Ashland and had no problems with them ever. But they have mentioned that the MD dealerships are difficult to deal with even for them. They apparently do not like transferring vehicles to any other dealerships where the two Richmond dealerships do it with no issues.

Why do people keep paying these prices? $80k! I keep hearing how dealers are suffering on sales. Guess they are the exception? What a joke.
Agree 100%.

Not sure why, that ranger has been out here for quite a while. Built in a plant in Thailand.
B@5tard ugly thing no idea how anyone could be attracted to it.

No solid axle no removable roof no fold down windshield I don’t think it holds a candle to the gladiator platform.

We just need Jeep to sort out a decent range of powertrain options. I4 4xe and I64xe options please mr Jeep.

Raptor is really nice, the regular ranger doesnt look like they tried that hard imo. Still kind of ugly, and the interior is just super ford cost cutting as usual.
In my opinion, Ford makes some of the nicest interiors. Base models always have a subpar interior compared to higher end models. You want to see a crappy interior? Look at a Chevy. Big gaps. Screens that stick out. Menus that are hard to navigate and settings you can’t figure out how to change.

Ford can make nice interiors, but anything short of the high end models typically are straight cost cutting trash. The 2 mid level Ford's I had were rank with just obvious cost cutting with tons of nasty unfinished hard plastic with sharp edges, low quality touch surfaces and generally just a lack of attention to details. Chevy also does the same thing to save a few bucks and it's really off putting. Again I understand that they weren't the luxury version, but they also weren't the rental specials, and compared to the Toyotas, Hondas, or Ram I moved to, the interiors were just really really bad.

I had a low end Ram rental while my F150 Lariat was in the body shop. The Ram interior was cheap trash compared to my Ford.

That's a lariat to a rental special, compare a ram rental to an f150 XLT, you'll be shocked at how bad the XLT interior is in the fit and finish. Big horn and up there is a reason the ram is still considered to be the best full size truck interior in the business by pretty much every reviewer.

I could just be jaded, but that XLT I had was infuriatingly bad with the cost cutting. It was all the small details that just slowly added up that just really soured me on it.

Maybe the XLT is that bad. I’m not really familiar with it.

My brother is a used truck dealer. I’ve spent a lot of time in all the full size trucks because he is always driving a different one. I personally prefer the Ford interiors. Dodge #2. GM #3. But you are right the Ram interior gets good reviews.

The Lariat I have was $57k on the sticker. A little cheaper than the XLT next to it with a big sunroof and 20” wheels. I’m not sure why anyone would pay more for an XLT with some options, but I guess some people do.

They did the same thing with the outgoing generation Ranger. Why some complained the interior seemed a bit dated for the time. I think with this current generation though, they have tightened the lead times between their global launch and North America launch of the model.

I like it and was really excited to see them put more effort into the Ranger platform. I'm not sure I'm the target audience though (search 'Ford Ranger VGR')

Whoever designed the latest Ranger should be canned!

That interior ?!! Lazy design!
The exterior looks like it was designed in the late 90's too.

No competition to a solid front axle and Diesel.
