Bought Ko2’s in March for $370 each now they are at $425 each. Prices at Costco.
Glad I bought my tires and Jeep when I did!
Been watching the news any lately?
I posted a big bit about Costco having to raise prices and even restrict numbers on some items because of production costs, transportation costs and shortages of transportation and so on.
And that was a month ago...................
We noticed that the same amount of groceries we bought this past week cost us at least 10 bucks more than a couple of months ago. Food is slated to be 5 to 15% higher this winter.

Bottom line - shortages will continue, and,
If you can get it - it will cost more.

I thought I'd grab another TV for the garage so we can watch multiple games at once.

Those damn things are up 20-30%.

Def not just you. They are for sure. Bought a set of 5 for a 5 tire rotation from my minivan looking stock tires that came on my overland, and it was ridiculous. And I stayed with 35" equivelents.

I thought I'd grab another TV for the garage so we can watch multiple games at once.

Those damn things are up 20-30%.
TV in my main level shop (restorations and automotive stuff), TV in 2nd floor of shop (wood working, etc), TV in my wife's quilting/sewing room/family room in fully finished walkout basement, TV in corner bedroom, TV in porch/sunroom, TV in kitchen - oh, yeah, TV in main living room.
They may be up now but they are a fraction of what they were even a decade ago.
Nice thing is I can connect any device at all, tablet, phone, desktop, laptop, Chromebook, anything with an OS and a browser and screen and watch TV through our 4 tuner Tablo.

My wife has a habit of stocking up on things when they are on sale - that meant that last year - toilet paper? No worries! She had a closet full that lasted until the end of the year when it was back on the shelves again. So I told her a month ago when I saw this coming - don't stop doing what you been doing - if it's on sale and we'll use it, buy it now.
2 freezers full - she bought a quarter beef a month ago, we've got dozens of pints of raspberries I picked through the year, 10 5 gallon buckets of apples in the garage (she's going to make a dozen or so apple pies, and quarts of apple butter and apple sauce) - I said - stock up, honey!

There was talk of a worldwide rubber shortage that was going to affect the market for several years

If you’re a USAA member, you can get 30% off Goodyear tires right now.

This is exactly the type of post that has gotten me banned twice. I guess Admin around here just likes to pick on me.

But for the record, you are 100% correct.

And, there is allegedly a concern over shortages of natural rubber. Apparently one area of the planet produces almost all of the world's natural rubber and they're getting lower in supply of it.
Yes that is true, the vast majority of natural rubber comes from Asia.
Thailand and Indonesia being the big producers.
The combination of the pandemic, drought, leaf disease and China stockpiling natural rubber is the reason it has jumped over 75% in the last 18 months. In a weird coincidence with the semi conductor shortage the demand by auto manufacturers for tires is less, so if production ever manages to ramp up to pre Covid levels, watch tire prices really soar.
