New Willys JT and no engine cover

Do the Willys edition Gladiators come with the engine cover? My Willys Gladiator did not have a cover on the engine. It was not there when it was offloaded from the truck, nore was it inside the vehicle. The dealership stated that some models did not come with one. Is there anyone else here, whose JT did not come with the engine cover?

I also have two with brackets if anyone needs them, also the Gladiator engine has no wiring at all under the cover and only two plastic tubes, which don’t really need the rear bracket to hold the tube in place. We don’t notice any difference but I will tell you it is surprising how much it weighs with the brackets, they are pretty heavy…Jack

Ps: Gladiator engine without cover looks killer compared to the mess on top of Bronco engine.

The 3.6 is a good looking piece of technology. Can't wait for my hood kit to arrive so I can stop using the prop. I'm always so afraid of those things that I'm going to bump it or something will break and the hood come down on my head. Don't have the head of hair I used to have to protect me.

Non-engineers comment that they aren't needed -but then there's a reason Jeep and Ford and GM and others spend money on engineering and manufacturing of these things.

They can reduce NVH, but on some models this might not be a big deal.

It also may be a supplier issue.

Never having knocked out of puts I wouldn't know what force it would take. But why not just lay the hood against the windshield, and then you won't have to worry about it falling on you?

Hey bud, we spoke before, have you taken delivery ? I ordered same day(Rubicon) and got the "IT'S HERE" email from Renee today !!!

I've been corresponding with another member since this process began. he ordered the same time as us and also got a Mojave and his arrived yesterday also.

I haven't received anything. So am I the odd man out? I don't know yet. Fingers crossed my Jeep was on that truck(s).

If you have a couple of minutes can you check with Jeep Chat and pretend that you are checking status to see if JC knows its been delivered. If they do. I'll check with JC before calling Gupton.

To me personally it's not a big deal on a truck, but then the number of women who buy trucks and Jeeps has exploded, at least in our area. Go to a grocery store and half the pickups in the lot are driven by women - and they like quiet.
It's why Jeep made so many changes to engines over the years.
But who knows - the reason this was removed is down to "I think" or "I'm guessing" - yeah, exactly, that's all it is. It's the internet, everyone has the answer. And the neat thing about the internet is that there are so many answers to choose from!
