Last night my girlfriend and I went to the state fair for a concert and on our way over there, ran across the Jeep display! They had a White Rubicon there and so we checked it out a bit (even though we have looked at these a lot and still waiting on Hydro Blue..) and of course the 'guy' came over and started talking to us about it and here is what I "learned"..

1. I asked if he had any info on what was going on with the Hydro Blue. He said that it may be pushed into a 2021 color as they are nearing the end of the current production year.

2. He said that there are currently 7 colors available to buy, but absolutely NOBODY knows what colors are available when until they show up at the dealer.

3. You can get great fuel mileage with the optional 2.0l gas turbo engine which has great lower end torque because it is a turbo. OR you could opt of the 3.6 engine. (No, there were no typos)

After hearing all of that in under 4 minutes, we were off walking....I couldn't take it any longer.

Was found out wandering, dazed and confused, possibly due to too much alcohol or drugs or both. Thought they were selling Toyota’s to Bigfoot!!!!

No, they generally find attractive people and cram their heads with information. He probably did a Wrangler booth at some point and didn't pay attention to the Gladiator information they tried to give him.

These guys get used to saying whatever they want because most buyers know diddly about cars. I had a sales bro tell me that steel bumpers were standard on Rubicons. The attitude of most car salesmen seems to be “close enough.”

Shhh... don't tell him that the 2.0L in the JL has been getting less MPG than the 3.6L in real world owner hand calculations on Fuelly.com.

To be fair it is. He was not wrong. It’s just only the rear bumper is steel. So technically he was correct.

Being confident while spewing misinformation is very effective. I know this personally.
The saying “ If you can’t dazzle them with your brilliance baffle them with your bull___t” comes to mind
