That's the thing here - every-other vehicle is a Jeep. They are driven by everyone from 85 year olds to teens to ladies in their 20s and 30s, women with their 10 year old daughters, you name it.

Today - as usual saw dozens and dozens of Jeeps- a number of Wranglers, and 3 Gladiators.
Here's the kicker - the Gladiator drivers didn't even glance, several of the Wrangler drivers did the wave. Ironic.
I'm a 62 year old lady and I drive a JTRD and I try and wave all the time. I get the least amount of lets say over 65 yr old males and under 20 year old drivers waving back.

No one waves because there are more wrangles on the road than Accords.

The wave was a thing when there were relatively few jeeps and the act of owning one meant you were part of a small an exclusive club of people willing to put up with driving and uncomfortable rattle trap because it allowed you to go where no one else could.

Now you see them lined up at Whole Foods driven by moms on there way to yoga class before picked up there kids from daycare.

No exactly what it use to be. The roads are filled with wranglers and filling with gladiators. Sorry I'm just not waving anymore as the act of doing so doesn't really mean what it once did.

I'll wave back as a matter of being polite. I'm not initiating a wave though.

Nobody told me that people waved. I genuinely thought something was wrong for the first week of owning the Gladiator haha!

I like it. Gives me and the wife something to do on long trips

To me, the people with the newer Jeeps wave more. Older the Jeep, less chance of wave.

Least likely to wave in that order:

Jeepers in Clermont
Mojaves
Girls driving Jeeps
Stock Jeeps

Most jeeps around here wave. I wave too. I sometimes forget, and wave at jeeps when I'm not in a jeep. It's not just a jeep thing though. When I had my Subaru STI, WRX, STI and BRZ (alphabet gang haha) would wave. When I had my VW GLI, GTI (more letter-named cars) and Classic VW owners would wave. Whenever I drive my bug, all gear head VW owners and drivers of classic old cars wave.

I live in Oregon. I always wave and I'd estimate that I get about a seventy percent return. There are a Lot of Jeeps around here and most seem to get it.

Lmao...why Mojaves? I always wave.
I can't see you waving 2000 miles away, lol.

I get the girls. I get the stock Jeeps. The Clermont thing has me a bit puzzled.
But Mojave owners studiously ignore my nicely customized bright blue JTRD.

If Freud were here I think he would diagnose it as:

"Rubicon Envy" lol.

I wave and wave back of I see someone waving. Would have to say its 50-50 on if I get anyone waving or waving back. Lately its mostly guys that wave and wave back. Very few of the soccer mom/Younger Women jeep crowd wave or wave back but perhaps they do to other women and just don't want to wave to old farts in jeeps (LOL)

Other people who don't wave: Rentals

In places where Jeeps are rented (HI, WY, CO, etc), I bet a majority don't wave. Our recent excursion to WY we experienced it. Waved to lots of Jeeps; the ones who usually waved back were ones with obvious mods. Stock-appearing Jeep drivers had no waves to give.

I have a CDJR dealer in town, so I allow for the possibility of a test drive as why someone wouldn't wave when I pass one locally.
