Got a JT; love the beach, so why not a drive to the outer banks for a JT drive on the beach? Let the family play in the ocean for the day and do some driving around on and off road all doorless/topless.

With that said any pointers for driving out there? Got a plan to go to a southern NC Beach for the week, but want to take a 2 day one night trip up there, just to see the outer banks as I've never been in the area.

OBX is a great place to drive on the beach, but most of it can only be driven from Oct-Apr. Permits are required and they are different depending which beach.

You can drive on Corolla beach and see the horses year round. No permit needed, unless you want to park. I did that last year in my JL. Was fun, but got soaked by a rogue rain storm. Got soft top back up, but no doors and side ways wind and sand.

Better option now is Carolina Beach (Freeman Park) or Kure Beach (Fort Fisher). I did Fisher in May and fished.

Heading to Rodanthe later this month. Can't wait to drive the JT on the beach at Corolla/Carova.

I was going to say that Fort Fisher is an easy day trip and accessible for many. Glad you brought it up.

Hey All! We are in Wake Forest and would enjoy getting together as frequently as we can. We have a 3.5 and 6 month old so it requires some coordination with the grandparents. Count us in! As well, we are way cautious with all of our Jeeps, so I think we'd like to start easy and ease into the moderate trails. I drove the JT on grass over the weekend and that was off-roading for us!

I just don't want to scratch her yet!!

Just going by the pic on FB, I'm assuming they let you drive on the beach in a designated area. The event map shows the sound side, but it shows Jeeps on the beach. You aren't allowed to drive on the beach at Nags Head in Sept. This will be 2 weeks before I'll be back at Nags Head again.

This looks oddly like the OBX Jeep Jam, with the same exact address and dates. The only difference is Jeep Jam has their own website and Facebook pages. Have they been bought out or is this a hostile takeover?

I know Jeep Jam was cancelled for Covid last year and I believe was uncertain this year.

I just did Fort Fischer last week. It was a blast in the Mohave. Very rutted and I may have got it up to 30 a few times & had it way into those beautiful bumpstops.

Headed to Carolina Beach in mid August. Planning on getting my permit online before I get there and hit the beach. Can't wait to try out the JT there. Took my JKU there years ago stock with no problems. August can't get here soon enough!!
