Not for tall people

Wish I would have seen this thread before I started my own, better yet before I ordered a Gladiator. I am 6'2" 215 and I just can't get this seat anywhere that it is comfortable. I don't even think the seat in the JT is mounted at the same height from the floor or distance from the pedals as a JLUR. That's what I just came from and even though they look the same, the JT seems to be drastically different. I would hate to trade in a 3 month old vehicle but I had hip surgery in May from a sports injury and I just can't figure out a way to get the seat in a good spot for any trips over an hour. Have you tried anything? For me its having my knees jammed up above the level of my hips bc I have to have the seat at the lowest position so I'm not staring directly at the sun visors. But I feel like i'm in a go kart with my knees up that high.

I own both a JK and JT. First thing I noticed in the JT was that the seating position, with the seat all the way back, is definitely closer to the wheel/firewall than it is in the JK. It's noticeable to me after having driven the JK for 9 years. Fortunately I'm only 5'10" and my wife is 5'5", so it's not much of an issue. But I could see it being an issue for taller people. We actually put seat frame risers in the JKR. Every time you get out you hit the lever and lower the seat. Might do the same on the JT since the wife drives it most.

Being 6'6" and taller doesn't really represent the majority of people. There are literally dozens of vehicles tall people can't own without modifications. Should a truck be one of them? Probably not.

6'3" over 200 lbs and I don't even put my seat back all the way. I do wish the windshield was a little taller sometimes, but I also flip the Sunrider back any chance, so I really don't mind

I would like to see an extension installed. Not an issue with me at 5' 8" though. But my son is 6' about 350#. He likes it, but can see it's tight for him.

FWIW I am 6'-5" and 245. I am quite comfortable in the JL and the JT. Now I won't say I have any extra room and everything is moved to give its max amount of room.

I installed the Misch 4x4 brackets. I did not take any pictures. I used them for about a week and went back to stock. The extra leg room was nice but my head whacked the sound bar when I hit a bump coming out of a creek bed and also, it mounts the seat about 2 inches higher, so for tall people you get more leg room but end up with even more of the windshield header in your sightline. If it was just a short distance DD or a weekend toy, I wouldn't mind as much but I do lots of long distance road trips hiking, camping and climbing and that thing just is not built to be a long road tripper for tall people.
The stock rubicon suspension also makes it quite prohibitive as a road tripper. But that is a topic for another thread I am sure.

First time reading this only minutes after the dealer told me that the JT I ordered has arrived! I have a JLU Rubicon and have no room issues at 6' 5" and over two-bills. I did test drive a JT before ordering and didn't find any difference in the room from the JLU. Time will tell I guess. But, us tall folks are used to cramming into smaller spaces so I'm sure that I'll manage.

Just returned from test driving three different Gladiators and I’m surprised that the dash difference between the 2020 and the 2021 hasn’t been brought up yet.
The dealership owner apparently wasn’t even aware of it until I pointed it out to him.
So I’m 6’4” 250 with a 36” inseam. 2020 JT Rubicon was just as uncomfortable as my 2011 JKUS except with worse visibility. My knee rested on the transfer shift lever but wasn’t crammed into the dash. Adjusted the seat and mirror every imaginable way, sight lines sucked.
Switched over to the 2021 JT Rubicon and my knee was crammed into the dash. Thought for some reason maybe the seat adjustment might have changed due to consumer complaints but the dash is cut differently. Tapers in a lot sooner on the 20 where the 21 is more squared off and intrudes into leg room much more.
Really wanted the Gladiator as my retirement present, and to replace my 11 Sahara and an 01 Super Duty.
Can’t believe manufacturers keep hanging crap down from the windshield and dropping the mirrors even lower. Consider myself a very safe driver but not when I can’t see.
May just keep the JKU Sahara and try and find a Tacoma or something similar that fits my big ass, and my needs.

This thread is the exact reason I have a full sized Ford and not a Jeep. Really wanted a Gladiator for myself, at 6’5” it is not feasible.

im 6’2”, Iwas quite surprised at how much more room I had than I thought I would. ive wanted one since roll out but just figured I wouldn’t fit. So I just wrote off even looking until I was bored looking at full size trucks the other day. I’ve been in full size trucks my entire life and full tons past decade.

Im definitely a little cramped, but not uncomfortable If that makes sense. I do misse the space and storage of my one tons. Only a few hundred miles on mine so we’ll see if it lasts.

That's why I mentioned "something similar", I'm going to have to do some shopping around I know. I read where the new Ranger has pretty good interior space for the mid size trucks. I know Ranger's and Tacoma's used to be very small but looking at the new Toyota going down the road it looks way closer to full size than they used too. Time will tell, much research ahead. Just hate to forego Jeep altogether as I really enjoy my Sahara Unlimited.

Well, friend, I love Fords as well and have owned a dozen or so. But, I wanted a Jeep. I'm 6'7", 245 and have more leg room in my Mojave than I do in my F-350 crew cab that I pull my horse trailers with.
I am gonna try something that just came out this week from a company call Extend my seat.

I actually partially scalped myself on a rental Tacoma last year. Didn't duck enough trying to get my head through the doorframe. Peeled the skin off a 1/2 inch wide section a little over an inch long. Last time I rented one of those.

6’5 with 36in inseam. No issues for me. I’m 180 though, so width isn’t a factor.
