Jeep.com lists the front seat headroom of the JT at 42.8" and the JL at 42.6". Something isn't adding up since that guy says he fits better in a JL.

West Coast Customs made a JK work for Shaq. I'm sure if this guy really wants to fit better in a JT, they can help him.

I sat in a JL at the dealership when my JKU was getting serviced. I didn't notice anything about the headroom changing much. (I'm 6'2")

I am 6”2’ and I can relate.

I am sure with a SOFT TOP as opposed to a HARD TOP there is much more headroom.

I can relate to the rear view mirror being at eye level and in the way. On a JK it is bearable but with the box of electronics behind the mirror on the Gladiator I can see how it may be worse.

I hope there is enough leg room. I like a high seating position.

I’ll have to wait to try it out at a dealership.

There is a decent amount of legroom in the back though right? Of course that isnt where I will be but...
class leading 38.3" For comparison, from what I recall the Tacoma is 32.9", Ranger and Ridgeline is 34.5". Clearly the JT blows em away. I have sat in both the RL and the Ranger, with the drivers seat adjusted for me at 6'0" /32" inseam, with a slight recline, my knees touch in the Ranger and almost touch in the RL. I have 2" of room in the JL. The RL is by far the widest of the three, as to be expected as is almost as wide as a F150. The Ranger has the worst back seat functionality of the trucks as it does not fold flat, no floor space under seat when folded up, and does no 60/40 split for passengers and cargo. The Tacoma has no flat floor under the seat but will fold flat if you remove the headrest and has a nice hard plastic backing on the rear seat for cargo. The RL is has a close to flat floor with seats up but the seats use cheap brackets to lock into a floor rail. From what I have seen on videos the JT is going to be the best with an optional locker for the floor, 60/40 split, fold up for tall cargo and fold down for load cargo to he higher up. My only criticism would have been to use an inch of that rear leg room to add an inch of recline to the rear seatback. Also when sitting in the JL front passenger seat I noticed my feet were canted to the right due to the transmission tunnel and when seated in the drivers seat my left hand nearly touches the door. Boy the JL/JT probably could have used a couple more inches of width IMO.

Great post Texas. Hadn't thought too much about rear seat comfort, convenience, ect. A good synopsis for us.

Ridgeli has some extra storage under bed functionality and dual down and to side opening tailgate, but as others pointed out to me tailgate doesn't lock..... Dumb.

JT seems to have the most of what I want in my new vehicle. There's a few things I would tweak or features missing, but NOTHING ever ticks all the boxes.....

Exactly. And the doors are the same, which means the A-pillar, B-pillar, windshield frame, etc. are all the same. So I have no idea where he got the idea that the JL worked for him but the JT didn't.

Unless, as somebody else said in this thread, they changed the seats or seat mounts in the JT. I don't know why they'd do that, but it's the only possible reason the headroom would be different.

From what I am hearing its not the headroom that is the issue it is the sports bar just behind the front seats. I suppose if you are tall and you push the front seats all the way back I can see head room issues.

So here's a different take on height challenges....

I saw a ZR2 today at a local dealership and decided to take it for a spin...
I could bearly climb into the thing!

I'm 5-9 (and don't have a pointy head) and was suprised at how hard it was. My wife is about 5-4 and she would never be able to get into it...

Hope the Gladiator is easier to get into....

Just get some automatic drop steps. I recommend Rock Slide Engineering. That's just my opinion
