I have such a distrust of the low end tech, that I’ll be doing this; that way, I can ensure the right torque specs, and not get stripped threads. It also keeps people from monkeying around under the hood, just to see them lose bolts and try to sell me an air filter.
The caveat to having them mounted as loose brought in wheels off vehicle, will generally lose any mileage warranty with the tire manufacturer as it will not be receipted showing it mounted to a vehicle.

Good to know. I’ll just have to make sure that the tires that I buy are good quality. I’m running the factory AT3Ws right now, at around 72,000 mi. I know that they’re not good in rain and some other conditions, they still drive fine on dirt and pavement. No signs of uneven wear.

Thank you. I too have never had a problem with DT. They have always been fair with me and i have bought many tires with them. Whether it was a "computer glitch" or they saw her as a easy buck to make, I will never know. But they did the right thing and refunded our money so I will not have an issue in dealing with them and buying my next set of tires from them.
I honestly have yet to see a company like that do anything differently with women than with men. Today's generations just don't operate like that.
Some places, like car dealerships, may be less willing to "deal" or bend a little but a strong woman can resolve that issue.
I've found the days of "they'll take a woman for all they can get" are fading fast. Today's women don't put up with it, many companies are at least partially managed or owned by women, and today's men don't treat women like your grandparents did.

That, and I've generally just not had issues - although I DO check lug nut torques and that sort of thing. (but haven't really had an issue there, either - not since the 1980s)

This has been just one of many reasons why I do not use any wheels over 17”, on any vehicles I own. I don’t use low profile tires because they are mostly designed for high speed handling on smooth pavement, with no real air down ability when off road especially in deep sand, then there’s the issue of risk hitting a pothole that can even break that tall wheel it not forged. The there’s the extra expense for the wheel and tire, brittle ride, with more unsprung weight that robs power and mileage. The only mechanical reason for a big wheel, is if the vehicle has big brakes. That’s a totally different vehicle dynamic than what a Jeep is designed for, yea even a new Grand Wagoner, unless it’s just a mall crawler, never driven on a real soft beach.

Not for my Jeep but another vehicle I owned. I ordered some very specific tires from Discount tire to be installed on my car. The Discount Tire folks ended up installing a completely different tire that was cheaper, albeit same brand. Quickly realized this, they said sorry and offered to immediately remount the correct tires. However, they failed to balance the new ones properly in their haste to swap them (was end of the day). Needless to say I don't think that I will be going back.

I recently bought a new set of 37s from Costco for my Jeep. Tires themselves were the same price as my local Discount Tire but Costco didn't charge for installation (my local Discount Tire does for whatever reason). Add on to that the fact that I used my Costco Visa card which provides higher cash back percentage on purchases from Costco and I ended up saving a lot of money overall. Costco also doesn't try to push their "certs" (when I bought my first set from DT, they just slapped on the certs in the pricing without asking and I had to have them be removed).

Everyone says they like Discount Tire but I just don't see it from my personal experience.

I have bought a few sets of offroad tires from Costco. They told me there is No warranty for offroad tires they sell. I’ve bought BFGoodrich from them, KO2s and KM3s.

The dumbest part of this is they will sell you 35" tires.
I have no problem with the policy ... I want to put them on myself ... at the same time i inspect the front end, seals and brakes. I have a manual tire machine its not that hard to do ,I wish i had a balancer I'd do the whole process myself

Evens tire out here told me they wouldn't install larger tires than what was on my Tacoma sticker.. I just took my rims to discount and they installed the 33''s off my JT on them LOL. Now i have a Tacoma on 33's and a JT on 35's HAHA

Guess it boils down to the local DT dealer. We had a situation where the police had to be called. I've shared it before, but I can tell it again if anyone's interested. It ended up costing DT close to $3k in wheels and tires because of their devious approach, underhanded lying and stubbornness.

I now use my local 4x4 shop, and they treat me like a human customer - not ignorant cattle.

This is why I absolutely love beadlock wheels. I ordered 5 tires and 5 wheels and had them delivered to my house, along with 5 TPMS sensors and 50 oz of balancing beads and 10 valve stems. I mounted and balanced and installed my wheels myself, and nobody had to touch my stuff.
