LOL - our WHOLE STATE, river to river, border to border, is only about 3.1 million.

So considering the population in your area - that's really not that many Gladiators, i suppose...
yuck!!! You all have WAY too many people for my comfort. Keep em over there.

Bill, your state is 3 times the population as mine and about 1/3 of the size by land area. Meaning population density here is exponentially less.

I couldnt imagine living in such a populated place again. Yuck….

This is as much population as we care for. We are luckily away from the cities enough, but sadly, older farmers are selling off land to city people who think they want to live in the country and they bring their crap city ways with them and screw things up.

It IS nice being reasonably close to certain services - getting a vehicle to a dealer for service, medical services, that sort of thing.
I just make sure I time my drives well outside of commute times - Iowans are idiot drivers.

I only did 25 miles myself. I am in a southern suburb of Seattle. That covers most of the metropolitan area.

There are three Jeep dealers within 100 miles of here. The only one with any used Gladiators is 70 miles and they have 4. There are also only 33 used Wranglers at those dealers within 100 miles.

They don’t want your Gladiator, they want your business. That’s the bottom line. Worked for Honda for a long time and got sick of having to make those same phone calls. Up to 125% trade in value blah blah blah ?

Maybe they will give you 125% value for your gladiator and then give you 15% off a new one. I bet not.... Sales tactics!

I'd love to live in Montana.....looks beautiful. The winters might change my mind though, but the geography, gorgeous and as you said, lack of people! Ugh, NE sucks for that. I make it a point not to go out around rush hour.

I tried to ignore them - emails, texts, phone calls - a dealer I've done business with in past years (I think we bought a Grand Cherokee or two from them over the years)
I still get emails, letters, etc from the dealer I bought my JT from asking if I'm interested in selling/trading my 2020 JL (that I bought from them and traded on the JT).

The winters are definitely cold. But, I wouldn't mind them nearly as much if they didn't put salt down on the roads. I feel like I am completely unable to go anywhere in winter because I don't want 9 months worth of salt buildup on any of my vehicle. Most of the time water hoses are frozen so I can't rinse/wash on a regular basis. If they didn't use salt (did I say how much I hate salt) then it would be much more tolerable as I could freely go even for a day drive without worrying about vehicle damage. If I was rich I would probably file a lawsuit against every state that uses salt. It is terrible terrible stuff.

But Montana has been 'discovered' now so all of the super beautiful places are overcrowded in the summer. Like Glacier especially. This has driven the prices insanely high. A cup of coffee at BRCC in Whitefish would cost you probably 15-20 bucks just for a standard drip coffee. There are still places in the 'Wild West' where I am that are relatively un-destroyed. They are pretty as well, but not like Glacier or the Beartooth's. But much less populated with places you can still hide away. The best thing about where I live is in 5 minutes I can be on a dirt road, which expands to hundreds of miles worth of dirt roads between here and Idaho. All primarily for forest management and fire of course, but still, dirt roads nonetheless.

You aren't totally wrong............ they don't have used JTs around here, and dealers like the guy I go through said they'd sell mine in a heartbeat because they just don't get them in but still have people looking for them.
HOWEVER - while I was there sitting having coffee waiting for my wife's JLU to get done, Scott came over and sat down and we started talking about stuff - yeah, actually non-Jeep stuff, like the new Chargers coming out and such and at that time I got get another text from "the other guys" and told him "this is like day 3, texts, emails, and so on trying to get me to go up there and talk about a trade".
He said - "corporate mandate" - if they see that a past customer has been looking online that information is sent out to the sales staff and they must for 5 days, every day, try to make contact in various ways. It's the corporate rule for the stores owned by that outfit. (where I was is owned by the same corporation)
He then said - "you notice I only told you that I got a notice that a past customer was looking around online after you contacted me - and I didn't contact you, I figured that if you were serious, you'd call me"
(so he basically broke policy)
By that time another customer of his walked up with coffee and we started chatting about other stuff like prostate cancer and whatever.

I tried to ignore them - emails, texts, phone calls - a dealer I've done business with in past years (I think we bought a Grand Cherokee or two from them over the years)
Finally I decided I'll respond to an email, let them know my current situation, no way I'd even talk about trading for a 2023, that would be silly to go from 2022 to 2023 with the only differences being the model year, mileage, etc. - and no one would have a blue one anyway. So forget 2023, and with prices of the 2024 in the stratosphere (compared to what I've spent in the past for mine) - it would have to be a killer deal, really killer, below invoice (they are an MSRP dealer) and have to beat any other numbers I've seen on my current JT.
She shot back saying they badly need used Gladiators and their people are searching for anyone willing to trade or sell them one. I can believe it - there just aren't any used ones around here.
3 days worth of messages left for me........
I'm hoping my "you can't meet my numbers" will maybe slow them down.
Is it really that bad out there?
There seems to be no issue getting new 2024s, the 2023s are pretty much gone around here, slim pickings on 23s here and I can't say I've seen used ones on the lots.
Interesting information. I have been researching locally and using cargurus and Jeep site and I see a lot of them for sale in GA and FL. I reached out to some as I was interested in trading in my 2023 Mojave 6MT for a diesel but they are giving me quotes around 40k, I have a 44k offer from CarMax and Kelly blue book trade value is right at 45k.
I am trying to limit the damage on the trade.
Also I think the dealers with inventory are the ones with 2k environmental package and 2k underbody coating, 500$ locking nuts etc... and hence they are sitting on lots. They just want uninformed buyers to show up and are willing to wait. A salesman told me diesel JT stopped since 2021 and I should buy Ram 1500 with ecodiesel instead.

If you don't mind, please share the numbers if you end up getting some.

I like my 6 MT but it's a little slow for my liking on highways and hills.. I will go and test drive diesel again and see if it's really worth it! I have driven it only once but in town.
