I saw a video on Youtube posted by infotainment, adding OEM remote start to a 2020 Wrangler Sport. All that was done was purchasing a kit containing 2 key fobs with remote start and their one time obd genie to enable remote start, then having a locksmith or dealer program the fobs to the vehicle. Once that is done they used infotainments flash obd genie to enable remote start and it worked. Would that work with my Willys Sport JT? I contacted infotainment and they said they do not offer that kit for the JT. I have a Jscan so I am able to enable remote start, but does anyone know of that is all that is needed to be done to enable remote start? I would rather have OEM vs. aftermarket. Here is the link to their video.. any insight would be appreciated.

I'm looking to see if anyone has knowledge if the JT is prewired from the factory and has the components already installed even though it was not an option that came with my JT. I have seen countless YouTube videos that Chevys, Rams and this one Wrangler video that shows adding new fob, and using tazer or jscan to enable remoye start and it works.

I'd refer you back to your previous thread on the topic. @Hootbro had a good reply there for you.

Not all vehicles are made the same. Even within the same model, there are differences for the sake of production efficiency that could be coming into play. It may even be VIN-specific. Considering the kit linked above by @Mr._Bill is what always ends up being pointed to, that would be your starting reference point.

Now, if you've found out something new, that's sweet. If that's the case, a link to the kit and/or install instructions would be useful.

82216342aa, you also need proximity doors, and auto trans. I went to one dealership and they said they couldn’t add it because it’s not available for my vin, but there is no reason it shouldn’t work for me so I’m going to try another dealership or I might look into a locksmith.

Interested to see how this pans out. Looks like it requires the dealership to add the code to your VIN in order for programming to take. If the Gladiator isn't listed as compatible (which it isn't), I wonder if they'll be able to get around that.

For whats its worth, I used one of the 12volt Solutions kits on my wifes 2017 Lexus and its great. Three hits of the OEM fob lock button and the car remote starts. Looks like they make a gladiator kit, though it appears that you have to send their module in for programming completion once you get it set up. Really no big deal, but worth mentioning.

Could save you some time and energy over the OEM kit.

Definitely would only go with OEM due to the things it looks for, and integrates with the system as a whole. Fuel level, time limits, number of times it can be remote started and more. In the old days I might have gone after-market kit, but not in a modern vehicle. That's my thinking, opinion and worth every penny you paid.

I see this is an older thread, I’m new here. I just did this on my gladiator today. I had the dealer check my vin and it was listed as an option but wasn’t enabled by the sales code. I have a 2021 diesel overland with the 8.1” uconnect radio. I do not have proximity doors. I used JScan and via the RF hub in adaptations enabled the remote start. I got a remote start key off eBay. I went to the dealer to get the pin so I could program the FOB, but the guy at the parts counter paired the FOB for free. Remote start now works. Hope this helps and answers some of the questions I saw

To use the Jeep App for Remote Start requires a SiriusXM Guardian subscription and a factory installed Remote Start option with a cellular equipped head unit.
