I was wondering if anyone here has good photos of the OEM spare tire carrier and hoist under the bed. I bought JT used and the previous owner gutted everything under the bed and used a JCR off-road swing arm. I am wanting to put my tire back under the bed but I’m not 100% sure what all is missing besides the hoist.

I removed mine a while back and I might still have it. When I get home later I’ll look and let you know. If I do you can have it for the cost of shipping.

Ya let me know if you still have it. I’m definitely interested.

I came into possession of this one from a guy who went to 40’s.

I definitely know about the hoist but I’m also wondering if I need the carrier assembly. Would be awesome if someone had some pictures I could reference. I’m pretty sure it’s number 33 in this diagram.

Thanks everyone. I gotta crawl up under there in the morning and take another look but I’m pretty sure I only need the hoist.

Gregj beat me to it concerning the carrier being welded.

I have the hoist if you want to pay for the shipping.

The cross members is also welded to the frame. You will see 2 square welded tubings from the rear wheel arch. Just hopes that the previous owner didn't hacked that off.

Not sure about OP but for me I’d be concerned with departure angles on some trails. Theres enough real estate back there to be concerned with without adding another 12.5” to think about. Gladiators got that Badonkadonk!!

The real problem is stability with a 110# tire and wheel. The latch and hardware that hold it together leave a lot to be desired. I’ll tighten everything down and hit some trails then the tire will start shaking badly. Lost the 1 1/8 in bolt that holds the spindle. The latch moves back and forth constantly. JCR will send a new latch kit for $175. It’s really just too much always looking out the back to see how bad the sway is and whether or not I’m going to lose a tire on the highway and ruin someone’s day.

This is a lot less of an issue than you would think. It sits high enough on the tailgate that I’ve never had a problem. Stability has been my issue with it.
