Quaker State doesn't holdup very well in the Gen III EcoDiesel beyond 5,000-mile intervals and your UOA reports show that.I've been running the Quaker State. I've also been seeing high wear metals.
I'll be changing to the AFL MS Amsoil.
I've been using Pennzoil Platinum during the warranty period, but I've been contemplating switching over to Amsoil AFL MS as soon as my stash runs out. Overall, my UOA reports look pretty good with Pennzoil Platinum at 5,000-mile drain intervals.I’ve been running the Quaker state since I ran out of my Jeep wave oil changes. Might have to make the switch.
If you just got the tune from GDE, it should be the revised one to address fuel dilution. I run it and my numbers are marginally better. My next report will be on the new tune.Just getting caught up on all this...
I don't live on the forum and just got my PCM back from GDE to read all this worry about fuel dilution and wear metals.
I have been sending my oil off to Black Stone with the 3 most recent changes. And I've been running the Quaker State. I've also been seeing high wear metals.
I'll be changing to the AFL MS Amsoil.
To reiterate, these results are all on stock tune. Quite a bit of idling in cold ass Minnesota as well, I'll be cutting down on that.
To do the math, most recent oil change went long, and was 6.44 ppm iron, 3.48 ppm aluminum
I'm on my second interval using FR3. So far, I haven't found any added benefit when looking at my UOA report. We'll see what the next sample looks like.About to hit 45k miles and thought about using this from now on. Anyone use this or anything like it?
Please keep us posted!I'm on my second interval using FR3. So far, I haven't found any added benefit when looking at my UOA report. We'll see what the next sample looks like.
