If you pay 10-15k for a 2” lift and tires you are the dumbest person on the face of planet earth.
Yes, agreed (though perhaps a bit harsh).

Most people are unfamiliar with how much cheaper it is to do it themselves. And obviously a lot of people don’t care, otherwise they’d never sell any.

The orders opened today for the 392, I ordered one and the dealer said he only gets three and for sure will be limited production.

Of course he's going to say that. It's helps to justify the markup they're going to slap onto the MSRP.

No markup and the guy is my cousin, I will leave my insider information to myself. Typical forum troll know all know nothing.

My friend owns one of the largest dealer groups, nothing indicates this is a limited production run, many people have stated they’ll build as many as the demand needs just as the TRX, under invoice won’t be a problem, we are replacing our JLU with a 392, and we’ve built one for order.. only real unknown at this point is pricing, but I think if we all assume 70-75,000 we won’t be far off either way.

Makes sense, but then why does each dealer only get one TRX

Is the "392" the same as the Hemi 6.4 - which makes 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque? Its just referring to the Hemi by its displacement in cubic inches (392), as opposed to liters (6.4) - right? Or does the "392" specifically refer to the 392 SRT, which makes 485-horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque? Can someone set me straight please.

If its the 6.4 Hemi found in the Ram 2500 it shouldn't be a huge price increase. If its the 392 SRT I guess it is going to be very pricey.
6.4 is the 392. In the Challenger it 485 HP and 475 LB. To get the 392 wet they had to decrease output of HP and torque.

No freaking way they’re $90k....where are y’all getting that info? Pure speculation? Random guesses? Is there a source to back that up? Custom jobs going for $120k are one-offs that are not accurate barometers for a factory price.

I’d guess starting at $60k...no one in their right mind would buy a midsized truck at $90k. That price makes absolutely no sense, especially given a completely loaded Raptor barely gets there.
The base Grand Cherokee with the 392 is 69,000. It can reach 90K with options. This is not the Trackhawk. The base Grand Cherokee is cheaper than the Wrangler Unlimited.

Keep in mind the 392 isn't a special engine. It's used in everything from budget coupes and sedans (under $40k) to pickup trucks sold to fleets. It's a standard run of the mill engine just like the 5.7L. It's even the standard engine option in the Ram 2500. That's why I don't think it'll be a massive mark-up in cost like some guys are saying. They could put the 5.7 or 6.4 in a Jeep just as easily. I think they're going 6.4 because they have to. The Bronco is already confirmed with a 2.7L EcoBust V6 that makes huge power with simple bolt-on mods and a tune. I'm talking 500 horsepower with bolt-on parts and a tune. Jeep needs something to fight that, and the 5.7 won't cut it.
It is the SRT engine. The one in Ram 2500 makes 410 HP. The SRT makes 485 HP, 450 HP in the Jeep, due to fording water.

*sigh*...and I don’t think you understand how two different jobs need two different tools.

If you want one tool to do it all, then you sacrifice some of the benefits of using the right tool.

For towing, you can’t beat a diesel...if only the JT/JL had sufficient cooling and a larger tank. The right tool for towing or payload sure as hell ain’t a JT, but it is a lot more fun than a full sized truck.

For trails, a 4XE would be awesome to extend range. But a 2.0L turbo 4-banger (which I believe is backing up the electric motors) would indeed suck for towing.

A V8 can’t be beat for the sound and pure driving emotion, but range would suck; take a look at the mpg someone with a swapped JT like @Factoid is getting. But he didn’t do it for fuel economy. He did it for the grins.

As Mick Jagger says: “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need.” :like:
Great Stones song. I had a Challenger Scat Pack and if I mashed the pedal I got 4 mpg. On the highway with cylinder deactivation I got 26 mpg.

Ah, so the actual painted part of the grill being mesh vs. just the portion inside the slots? Interesting idea...the mesh could even be painted to still give the appearance of the iconic 7-slots.
Exactly. Leave the slots open still, trying to get MORE air in lol.

Looks like I better get to work. My Jeep-obsessed-build-budget just doubled. As if our fuel & Jeep parts budgets weren't bad enough already
