Took my 2021 gladiator in for an oil change and discovered on my way home (23 miles from the dealership) that the tech forgot to place the o-ring on the oil filter…resulting in a loss of most of the oil...the dipstick was dry, oil smoke and a loud ticking noise. The dealership called this morning informing me that they corrected the issue by changing the oil filter and refilling with oil. I asked what possible damage could have occurred and what possible issues may arise in the future - the answer was “none”, that there was a little oil still in the engine and it should be just fine.

I want to trust them but….

Sounds like typical dealership "no attention to detail" issues

People Work?
Contact @JeepCares or Jeep directly and request an extension on the engine warranty at the very least.
Order a test kit and collect a sample. If you're careful, you loosen the drain and drip out enough without doing a full drain.
https://www.blackstone-labs.com/products/free-test-kits/

The analysis will cost you $35.
Make sure to note the circumstances on the form when you submit the sample.
This is cautious preparation and it will help to arm you for future claims.

I'd also get something from the dealership in writing that documents their confession to the mistake and having the engine effectively run dry because of it.

We're seeing way too much of this carelessness from dealerships on oil changes.
They've never done mine and they never will.
It's a "put the new guy on it" task.

What @Lunentucker has already said is solid advice. Been a few threads in the past of dealer oil change mishaps and unless you have noticeable problems with the engine after the dealer correctly serviced it, you are not going to win the "I get a new engine" lottery. Best case is an extended warranty.

Changing the oil in a 3.6 Gladiator is very very simple DO IT YOURSELF
I completely agree with this statement! unless you live in a condo or apartment building,

Wondering what came of this?? I just had the same thing happen to me and I am fighting the dealership. The engine noises where terrible after driving 15+ miles home from the dealership and they stated it should be fine. There is no way this engine has zero damage and will be the same.

Will @JeepCares be able to help with this?

What's it sound like after being fixed and oil added to the proper level?

You can fight for some extended warranty on the engine, and do oil samples to track wear, but unless you can show there's damage - then it could be fine. You'd be amazed as what they can handle - on the other hand, you don't know what happened inside without tracking oil samples over time.

Do exactly what he says here below:

Contact @JeepCares or Jeep directly and request an extension on the engine warranty at the very least.
Order a test kit and collect a sample. If you're careful, you loosen the drain and drip out enough without doing a full drain.

There's nothing else or more to do. Likely the OP's engine is doing fine since we've not heard anything otherwise.

Sure would be a shame if that shop had an electrical fire overnight.

I still do not have my Gladiator back, day 3 now. I requested dealership run oil samples and run some additional tests The noises the engine made were not good and at this point I have no idea what effect this will have on the engine life. I am going to contact @JeepCares to see if they can help escalate. I was hoping 1bg could let me know what ended up with his situation.

YOU have to run the oil samples. You take the oil and send it in.
I'd sure not trust the cat to guard the hamster - meaning you'd want the shop to send in a sample?
Likely they'd take it from some other vehicle and send it in.

They don't do that sort of thing anyway.
