I only get about 13mpg on the highway now with my current wheels tires. Not too much of a concern for me.
Thunderspud thank you for the input, that was my concern with the trail grapplers. If width wasn’t an issue for me, it would be a no brainer, go back to the Toyo M/T tires, I love the way the look and have always had great luck with them...
I guess it is down to the 38x11.50R20 Ridge Grapplers or the Wildpeak R/T 37x11.50R20.

I do love a good skinny tire. I have a set of LT255x85R17 (35x10 but with an 8.6" tread width) Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts on the OEM Rubicon Wheels. I switch back and forth between those and the steelies and mud-terrains in the previous post if the truck is going to stay on pavement for any long trips.

https://www.mickeythompsontires.com/light-truck-tires/baja-boss-a-t

They appear to make a 37x12.50R20 with a 10.3" tread width if you hadn't seen. Sometimes you need to peruse the specific tire dimension charts provided by the manufacturer to see what you're actually getting into. Those standardized P Metric and Inch/Flotation sizes don't always tell the full story.

I think I will try the 38x11.50R20 Ridge Grapplers. I just talked to my friend and he said he had good luck with getting his 37s balanced.
I ordered the rims last night, as soon as they come in I will have them powder coated and then get the tires...
Now I am torn between powder coating the rims Matte Black or something close to my body color. These are the rims I bought, I do not like the 2 Tone.

I also do not off-road… I just saw that Falken makes a Wildpeak R/T01 37x11.50R20. That may be a possibility.
My big concern is the tires not sticking out. My current setup is perfect. But the rims are 8” with an offset of 30mm with Kanati Mud Hogs 37x12.5R17 10 PLY (36.8 - 73lbs - SW 13.03) on them. So going with a 9.5” rim with an offset of 0mm is going to push them out. That is why I am considering a 11.50 width tire. I prefer the 12.50 (and there are a lot more options), but I don’t want them sticking out..
I have the falken wild peaks. I would highly recommend them. Looks great. Does very well on street and everywhere off-road. Also you can the fender flare extensions to cover that extra of stick out from the 12.5 in tire do like $100. If you want to open up your options. I have 13.5 in wide and with the rubicon x fender flare extensions and they do not poke out past them. They fall end have a heavy duty 3ply side wall it’s different but works. I have run 12 psi for a week all over Moab on them in town and out of town on trails no issues and no issues towing either.

I put those on a couple weeks ago actually. They cover my 37s on OEM steelies pretty well. I got tired of destroying my rear door hinges I guess.

Good choice I think. I’d go with those as well out of those 2 choices. I’d get them if they were 3 peak snow rated.

My wife’s JL High-Tide came with those fender extensions on it from the factory. I didn’t like the look so I took them off.
I will post some pictures once I have the wheels mounted on the truck in a month or so…

I had to do some cutting to make them fit, and I'm also not sold on the aesthetic. But if they stop me from destroying my rear fenders every spring I'll probably live with it.

Those wheels are pretty sweet. Reminiscent of the Stewart & Stevenson LMTV wheels......which is another abandoned project behind the shop I really need to get back to. So thanks for reminding me, lol.

I am buying new wheels and tires.
Currently I have:
Black Rhino Armory 17x8 +30mm offset (they look great and almost no tire poke)
37x12.5 Kanati Mud Hog tires (they look great but the tires suck, they are extremely noisy and have a bad shat between 50 and 60MPH)

I am buying Black Rhino Arsenal 20x9.5 0mm offset (I would rather get the 20x9 Armory but they have -18mm offset and I want as little tire poke as possible)

I want tires that last the longest but do not make a ton of noise… Not really sure I want the KO3s but...
My tire choices are-
Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 37x11.50R20 (36.77” - 77lbs)
Goodyear Wrangler Boulder M/T 37x12.5R20 (36.76” - 79lbs)
Toyo Open Country M/T 37x12.5R20 (36.77” - 85lbs)
BF Goodrich AT KO3 37x12.5R20 (36.5” - 67lbs)
Any experiences?

I can tell you the trail grapplers were fantastic for me, well over 40k miles and the best snow tire I've owned. Which is weird because they aren't a snow tire. My second choice in that list would be the toyos.

It depends upon your intended use of the rig. If it's primarily a pavement pounder the K03's area good pick, but as you probably know they will run small, more like a 35.5" tire. Alos thin sidewalls that won't handle rocks well. (I have K02s on my Willys daily driver that will likely never see the rocks).

If you plan to wheel the rig tghe Nitto or Toyo choices will be excellent. Another you should considert is the Nitto Ridge Grappler, great all terrain. I run the Nitto TG's on my JK rock crawler and love em'.

Great choice on the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I have the 35x12.50x17’s on my JT Rubicon and they ride great. Previously had the 35x11.50x17 Trail Grapplers and although they looked and sounded more aggressive than the Ridge Grapplers, the ride was obviously not as smooth. I’d say Ridge if used more for daily driving and Trail for more off road use. Both excellent tires.

Just dropped the rims off at the Powder Coater. They said about two weeks… so hopefully within a month I will have them on and post some pictures.

I have the KO3's in 37/12.50-17.

Mine won't hold balance for very long. Other than that they are a decent tire.
