OVS kitchen slide

Curious if anyone here has this, or has experience with it. I am in search of a more streamline kitchen setup. I really dont know how I feel about the 90 pounds of shipping weight (maybe 60 pounds of actual product?). But it crosses off almost all the boxes of what I am looking for. It's also kinda pricy....but not much more than other standard slides - and those darn stainless slides themselves. are darn expensive.

Not bad really! I bought a set of 500 pound stainless 48" slides to build one sort of similar, other then not much prep area other then the sink cover, they were expensive still sitting in the shop waiting on the build of the kitchen slide with bed on top. This is not bad when you figure it also is a fridge slide, I stalk you a bit and enjoy your threads, Time to rethink the fridge location, and sell the other slide so the weight is not so bad! I have seen sinks like that but a lot also have a drain in them, that you could put a garden size hose to a 5 gallon Jerry can......Jack

Yeah I would remove the current slide I have since this one has a slide for the fridge as well. Which is a pretty nice option. So it has 3 sets of slides in total - which is quite a bit. The OVS kitchen slide here is a bit pricy, but if you consider what it is it's within the 'market' value of everything else. The slide I have now for just the fridge alone was like $450. But I am curious what people think who have it. I'm sure it's fine quality, but it's nice to see other opinions. I really have not seen any photos or videos from anyone, so I find that a little strange. Not even on expedition portal did I find anything. Maybe it's still just too new? There site does say pre-order but it's been that way for over a year. The sink seems pretty standard from what is available on Amazon. I figured I could probably replace the entire aluminum deck there with some nice sealed birch wood and allow for a little larger sink and possibly a faucet as well. I really dont know any other location to put the fridge though. Thats kinda the only spot I have in the right rear corner of the bed.

I like this a lot. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on a chuck box but this is a pretty slick setup.

I first saw some add of it over a year ago. Not many people seem to have them. maybe they are more popular in the Toyota world. But it's awful heavy , especially at the end of the bed of the gladiator. It has me pondering some things. But I am allllll about making camp setup quick and easy - otherwise with my issues I just won't go.

I believe that version was designed for suv. The sink would not work for us due to the tail gate. There's an option for trucks as well. It doesn't have a drop sink area. Just another sliding shelf. This is from a different brand but it's the same thing as far as I can tell. He also carries the suv style. I think the outfit that I got it from is call globalroadoutdoors.com

recently went through all my camping gear and culled a lot but have more to do. I think a chuck box makes it much easier but the one you had left me cold.

The best (and most expensive) solution I've seen was on the JTM we rented in March in California.

BTW... rented a VW Westy in Missoula 7 years ago and roamed all throughout Glacier, all the way up the North Fork through Poleson. Hiked all over and just stunning. Your photos from your build are incredible and make me want to go back!

Yeah that's a great point. The first portion of the slide out really just sits on top of the tailgate. I previously had a nice table with a built in sink (it was a fishing sink) but it proved to be difficult to get in and out of the back of the jeep so I ended up only using it once.

I sorta have a chuck box. I have the Camp Chef Sherpa (https://www.campchef.com/sherpa-cam...26vgAPMHqAnxTnRv_HmzkuwveDVWFiUBoCQ7EQAvD_BwE). It's great for storage and holds all of my cooking gear, but the legs are not that easy pull out of it and theres no adjustability, so it's being used just as storage at the moment. I'm always looking for quicker options and lately I have been just cooking on my tailgate and washing dishes in a 5 gal bucket. Which works, it would be nice to find a quicker solution though.

Yes, that middle slide portion on my kit is pretty much useless. Most of the time the fridge portion slides on top of that. Really, I use the tailgate as a prep area anyway. I need to pick up one of those abs tailgate cover thingy. I guess now is a good time since I'm pretty committed to this slide. I use it everytime I'm out.
I've been looking at a few others but the ones I like are really cost prohibitive lol. Look up mountain mule kitchen. That thing is sick, but I can't find much info on them. I think they're based out in the Phillipines.

That's pretty slick. The downfall of it though is it makes the fridge sit high. 2 things with that - as the fridge sits now in mine, I still have full use of the rear view mirror unobstructed. Second is I'm relatively short....So reaching into the fridge just on a normal bed height slide is pushing my limits without a step stool.

I think what I will end up doing is coming up with my own version of a trail kitchen that has expandable legs, an expandable table, and a sink, as well as storage for cooking gear. This way I can store it where the Sherpa currently sits, but pull it out and set it by the tailgate in nice weather, or expand the legs and set it up over top of the fridge in bad weather. So it can be multi-use. Unfortunately I don't have fabrication tools so hopefully I can make it work with 8020 parts unless I can find someone to build what I envision for me ha. Unlikely the latter.

I was using this unit from Drifta for about a decade. Sat in the back of my 4runner, then in the Gladiator of a little bit, and now in my Scout trailer. It was pretty functional, albeit cumberson and heavy (when filled with all our cooking supply and gear) to move in and out. My wife loves it since it affords a lot of counter space. Especially since I'm the one that has to drag it in and out lol.
