Gonna just post a tentative plan / attendee list here and in the original post. Let me know if you plan on coming and I missed you.

When? 7/2 9:00AM

Where: South end of the trail.

Who's going?
JTBurns
@NachoRuby
@John in the Woods
@Karmageddon
@Rburns1776
@Scott L
@Maccam26
@cshoem286
@GOCAMPN
@MKC JT - Are you in?

Plan to air down, anything else to get ready and hit the trail by 10 or earlier. We'll stop midway to grab a bite and stretch our legs. Then possibly double back and run the trail again. Don't forget to get a pass:

https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/gwj/recarea/?recid=73965

For those who've been there before, how long does it take to run the trail? I think I read on the BOH app, it's about 2-3 hours? I don't mind taking my time either way.

Suggested extracurriculars:
Luray Caverns
Harper's Ferry
Potential craft show and fireworks at Bryce that weekend
Woodstock Tower
Last time I ran the trail it took 1.5 - 2 hours. Consider on the holiday weekend the trail may be crowded.

Yea I did see it can be busy on weekends in general so I'm sure a holiday could be worse. Think we're getting started early enough?

Any of you worry about how this will work if we encounter another group of 7-8 vehicles coming opposite direction. Sorry, new truck just trying to avoid pinstriping mostly in my first off road trip ... maybe I'm not built for off-road and I'll stick to camping only. I've got a hotel booked so not like I'm trying to chicken out but being a long weekend, it's true that encountering yahoos may be of greater concern.

Would like to have joined you all but Sat. is the 4th celebration up here & we have people coming over.

If you make it to Bryce give a shout & I will run down & say hi. Won't be in the JT since the dealer made me a great offer on it but will have the new JLU..

If not I hope everyone has a good time & a safe trip!!

I went solo last time; had to pull off a few times to allow groups pass me going in the other direction. There are lots of spots to pull off where you won't be in the brush. It just depends on where you are on the trail. Lot's of ATVs as well as the occasional hiker to avoid.

We will definitely run into other groups but with the exception of a couple of spots theres plenty of room for 2 way traffic/i've never had a problem negotiating around other groups. That being said, Folliage is pretty grown in up there now and will be full by July, so i'd say theres definitely a risk of pinstripes, but super minimal. Peters Mill Run is probably the best trail around as far as NOT getting pinstripes goes, I wouldn't sweat it too much. So long as we are all good on trail etiquette, such as using hand signs to let oncoming traffic know how big our group is and who the last person in the group is, Let ATV's pass our group so we arent a rolling roadblock, etc etc, We should be in good shape.

@Maccam26 If it makes you feel any better, my Gladiator is sitting on the truck at the dealer as I type this, just waiting on them to unload, prep, and take delivery. So you wont be the only one sending a brand new truck through the woods haha

Looks good! FWIW, I've had mine two years now, and have been through some tight trails where I thought I'd have picked up more pinstriping. We were in Ocala National Forest last month which is notorious for it and I really only picked up a couple that didn't buff out. I'm happy with the quality of the paint, and I don't do anything too special. I wash it by hand and recently applied one coat of the Turtle ceramic coating.

The only pinstriping I have that doesn't just buff out is on the unpainted black flares. That's the reason I'm glad mine are unpainted. My wife's wrangler has the painted ones, and there's a lot of paint chipping now. The scratches aren't as noticeable on the black ones.

How tight is Peters Mill?
I took an older truck (Toyota T100) on Big Levels and absolutely thrashed the paint job on it. I don't really want to do that to my new truck lol

Also I see I have a twin in VA with @Rburns1776 - hydro blue Mojave, black fenders & hard top!

The majority of Peters Mill Run isnt tight at all, especially compared to Big Levels, Dictum Ridge/second mountain, etc.

Well gentlemen, we decided we will pass and cancelled my trip will stick to camping and towing the boat for a year or two. Then today while camping …. A lady at the neighbor lot was putting her tent away and it flew straight into my Jeep. She had zero concerns about my paint and was pinning the tent to the truck. I got a little heated and eventually pulled the tent away … guess the lesson is I probably shouldn’t worry so much she sure wasn’t. She’s like oh from my perspective I was trying to save my tent and your was the truck weird…. Weird haha $65,000 vs $400. Subaru people are funny. Have fun guys sorry to be party pooper

I'll have my new MEK Magnet set on for those of you who are interested in seeing it in person. Will save your sides from pinstriping. Removable/Reusable.

Wow that looks awesome, I was researching that for sure. More i look at the Peters Mill more i think it'll be fine, I'll probably hit it in the fall sometime. Did you pay the full price on the limited edition?
