That piece is only applicable for those with Adaptive Cruise Control. It protects the Camera and Radar when driving with the windshield down.A fella on Ebay wants $49 for one of those things! Being Sport S owner I am still trying to figure out what might be mounted up there that has anything to do with cruise control.
The depiction of the hood curve and pictograph would have me wondering also. Since the pictograph is so poor how would a person even know where to look in the manual?
Not from me. There are probably many Gladiator and Wrangler owners who have no idea that the windshield can be folded down.I will probably catch shit for this, but did the pictograph not tell you what it was for?

Yep, showing my age...when cruise control came years ago it was great, just holding my speed! Now it has so many facets I'd rather just drive myself and knock all those features off. It's creepy to think of all my fellow highway riders relying on these tricks. Just drive the vehicle. That piece is only applicable for those with Adaptive Cruise Control. Gunsnrods your not by yourself I asked the same question a couple weeks ago but didn't include a picture jus a description.Mine was underneath the rear seat, I didn't look a lot at the picture but I searched everywhere for a missing location for the panel.I bought a new Mohave X in January. This plastic gizmo was in the glovebox. Anyone know what’s it’s for?![]()

The problem with Autopilot and Cruise Control is they are designed to maintain a steady speed. The Adaptive Cruise Control incorporates the use of Radar to prevent you from running into anything. It tracks the lane width, matches traffic speed, and will bring you to a stop if needed. I use it all the time, and would not buy another vehicle without it.Yep, showing my age...when cruise control came years ago it was great, just holding my speed! The first thing in most airliners emergency checklists are shut off the autopilot...it interferes with the pilots controlling the aircraft. We are taught not to rely on it but use it as a tool, but the pilot has to retain awareness and control. I think many drivers out there forget the awareness part, It's to reduce your workload but not responsibility for control of the vehicle. It is not free time to have a burger or do your makeup.
Sorry, I don't mean to run off topic or hijack the gentleman's thread..
This is my first vehicle with adaptive cruise control and have only had a few trips to use it. I definitely liked it when used and can see the benefits of it. Just like heated seats and other technology once you get used to it it will be hard to not have it in the future. The problem with Autopilot and Cruise Control is they are designed to maintain a steady speed. Actually, when I bought my Wiilys it had one these on the back seat.It confused the shit out of me, being that I don’t have Adaptive Cruise Control.I will probably catch shit for this, but did the pictograph not tell you what it was for?
Coming back from lunch with a coworker at Johnson Space Center, he's a neurosurgeon and I'm an aerospace engineer. We were talking as we tried to push our way through the doors of building 27. Yes, they were pull open doors. He said "Damn, I hope no one saw that." I said "A brain surgeon and a rocket scientist try to walk into a bar..."

If you ever want to change the dash speakers, it's vastly easier with the windshield folded down. That's the only time I've done it. While I had it down, I drove around my neighborhood and quickly concluded that a windshield is a good thing. Thanks for the response. Never have, probably never will fold down the windshield…
I like that "try".Coming back from lunch with a coworker at Johnson Space Center, he's a neurosurgeon and I'm an aerospace engineer.
