At about 80 MPH my top will begin to make a very loud harmonic vibration type of noise. Still there at near 90 mph. Haven't gone faster to see if it stops at higher speeds. Is it just me, or is this common? Is there an easy fix?

Thats common. Right at 80 you get that thumping noise...go faster and it goes away.

There's another thread somewhere here with a service message about the fix.
Basically replacement fabric

Thank you for this info... I wonder if this is why my soft top popped open on the interstate yesterday.

Luckily, it held onto the hooks or the wind would have ripped it clean off.

However, it's extremely dangerous to try and close a soft top while you're driving down the road at 75 mph.

I really hope that Jeep fixes this issue... I haven't even owned the Gladiator a week!

I had the same issue. I did have the top replaced. Same issue, so I chased it for awhile. What I found is...fold the top back and stand in the bed. Look at the front edge. There is a plate that rests at the windshield when closed with multiple screw holding the plate down. If you can see any stitching for the fabric, it is not assembled correctly. Loosen the screws and push the fabric under that plate all the way until you don't see the stitching and tighten the screws. I did this and mine no longer buffets and any speed. Drove me crazy until I figured this out. Basically you have put the proper tension on the center of the top the way it was designed to be, but not assembled correctly.

Had this problem and finally got dealer to replace the top with the FCA alert in hand when I took it in. The new top fixed my problem. The weird harmonic was so bad at 75-80 the rear view mirror was vibrating and you couldn’t see out the rear! All good now tho!

I stuffed a Harbor Freight micro fiber towel up into the crevice at the front of the top.
