Hey guys,

I took delivery of my JT Rubicon a couple months ago now. I noticed immediately that I didn’t receive the “Premium Sunrider Black Soft Top”, when I believe it was part of my order. The options I have are the Dual Top Group, and the Body-color Hard Top.

My dealer has been unhelpful to date with the situation, informing me it didn’t come with one. Their reasoning for this is that the body color hard top options states “Delete Sunrider Soft Top”. This option, to their understanding, is why my JT didn’t have the soft top.

My dealer doesn’t understand that there is a difference between the “Sunrider Soft Top” and the “Premium Sunrider Black Soft Top”. What the dual top option removed was the “Sunrider Soft Top”, not the premium which would have been included in the Dual Top Group. I paid $2395CDN for that option, and didn’t receive the premium soft top, or the money back because it wasn’t delivered.

I have a call with the sales manager at the dealership this morning. I have low confidence anything will come from it.

Am I wrong? Is the dealer wrong? If I am right, what should my next steps be if the dealer won’t do anything for me?

Just keep escalating it with Jeep, not the dealership. This one is pretty cut-and-dried. If you're saying you got a hardtop, but didn't receive any soft top at all, then it should be easy. Your window sticker says you paid for something you didn't receive.

Canadians are too nice. I would be having a field day. And months after the fact? Yee-haw!
The dealer was “looking into it” for awhile. No movement or resolution, so I brought it up with them again. I will escalate to Jeep if they don’t have good answers for me today.

Truthfully, I wont be running the soft top anytime soon. But, I am still owed it, or the money for it.

Brendon, post a copy of the window sticker please.

You mentioned the dual top group but also the body color HT. Normally, you get one or the other - Dual tops (Soft top + Black Hard Top) or a body color HT for the same price $2295 USD

The Jeep comes standard with the Black Sunrider Soft Top. The Premium version is available for $595 USD

The standard soft top would be deleted if you got the body color HT option. You also cannot select premium soft top and Body color HT

You cannot combine Dual top option and Body color HT options

So, I believe the dealer is correct.

When you get the Dual Top with the body matching hardtop, you get the premium soft top as well.

Thanks everyone. Dealer hasn’t properly responded yet. Awaiting another call today.

Attached the window sticker options for my JT. Window sticker shows that the dual top and body color hard top were on the build. I believe everyone has come to the same conclusion. I am owed a premium soft top or some money back.

Wasn’t there An availability issue with the premium soft tops on the JL? Look at some of the forums over there. I think at one point FCA was shipping the Jeep with the hardtop To the dealer trying to not delay delivery, and then shipping the soft top to the customer when inventory became available.

Ask the Dealer GM to call his Zone Rep to get a firm answer.

Man, Canadian pricing is weird. You pay extra for M/Ts, but body-colored fenders are dirt cheap. Proximity and the alternate wheels are both cheap, too.

Looks pretty clear to me. They owe you a top. I mean who pays 2 grand to have the soft top deleted lol. That is a good trick.

Someone stole your premium top out of the back of the truck. They arrive all boxed up.

Send a demand letter to the General Sales Manager demanding your top immediately or you will take legal action (small claims court).
