Nice work!
I am looking to build a single sub enclosure for the JL 12W3 on one side and an amp rack on the other side to hold two Xtants. I need my storage under the seats. Do you know the depth behind the seats?
If you remove the panel, it’s 3.5” right at the top below the baby seat yea there’s and the seat back. There’s 8” of so at the bottom. I can share actual dimensions tomorrow.

Please do.
Yes, please do. I plan to start building a box in the next week or so and knowing what height, top depth and bottom depth worked for you and still allowed room between the sub and the seat back would be a big help. I also would love to see your finished product.

48" wide
12" tall
3.75" deep at the top
7.25" deep at the bottom.

I did have to basically make two truck boxes connected to one longer rectangle if that makes sense. There are three feet for the seats that I worked around so my box tucks under the seats.

I also recessed both subs so they are flush with the front panel and I have two panels on where the subs mount.

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.
No problem, happy to help. I had to notch out a square in the back to fit one of those stupid boxes that are on the back wall. Glad I used 3/4 mdf to I had some depth to play with. I also routed the top back edge so it would fit under the bump on the back wall right at 12".

I pulled the rear seat out and back interior panel off. There is a ton of room behind there if you remove the factory subwoofer.
I want to replace the factory subwoofer with Kickers new HS10 powered subwoofer. However i think i'm going to have trouble due to the fact that the factory subwoofer has 6 wires going to it. Does anyone understand the wiring of the factory subwoofer? I imagine i can't leave those wires disconnected either because i'm sure the head unit will know it's not connected? The HS10 is small enough to put behind the drivers side of the rear seat but i wanted to hide it behind the panel if i could.
When you say factory subwoofer, you mean the Alpine upgrade or do all gladiators come with a factory sub?

My current setup:
-MB Quarts MBQJ-STG6A (replaces 6 speakers, dash/knees and soundbar with the Pac Audio Ampro)
- OEM sub still running
- Kicker HS8 (behind the rear driver seat resting in the storage tray)

So after adding to MB Quarts kit and as great as it sounded, I felt the need for more base balance. I wanted to continue to retain my under the seat storage and the only option was to find something behind the passenger rear seat in that small storage tray (made for a Bluetooth speaker option). Well after a one week search nothing would fit subwoofer wise in the little tray and disappointment set it. Then I thought if just the storage tray was removed, it might fit.

Special thanks to forum member JSPEED for checking the back of his removed rear panel before I attempted the removal of the small tray behind the rear passenger seat. He said he thought it would work.

So sure enough, the little tray removes by removing to 2 screws, be very careful with the trim snaps to get to the screws. Then used a trim tool to pop out the small tray. This gave me a little more room, but the only subs I could find that would still fit was a Pioneer and Kenwood 8 inch amplified.

I went with the Kenwood based on reviews and size for fit.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BO8O9XQ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Also needed some sub signal splitters from the Ampro to the Kicker/Kenwood subs.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005DL2OV...abc_89HSY2MAFPZZE8AE8SPZ?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Well, it worked out with much improved bass balance and everything fit nicely. If I didn’t have a rear underneath storage box and amps under the seat, I would have gotten something a little larger, but I kept my storage and still got great base now with 3 subs (OEM, Kicker & Kenwood).

Thought I would share if anyone else’s was wanting to try to fit something like amplified subs behind the rear seats.

Way cool. Im in the process of re-arranging a bunch of stuff inside the truck right now, and looking into a second subwoofer install (in addition to the alpine under passenger seat) and these pictures / info are helpful!

Final resting place.

BTW i forgot to mention be very careful pulling off the rear interior panel. There are several hidden clips along the top just under the rear window and i broke all but one trying to remove it. I was pretty careful and even used my trim tools but they broke anyway however i didn't have a clue what held that panel in place so it was easier for me to break them lol. Now you know so be careful and take your time.

i added some pics. There are 4 bolts that need to come out and the rest is clips. The clips i was talking about under the rear window are the ones where i'm pointing and circled. The clips on the sides come off easy.

Lol i did the same thing today. No matter how carful i was those dam things broke. Anyhow its a useless panel and now im going to make a useful one after i install my 12in Crutchfield Sub behind the seat. This is the speaker I got https://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fos...ocphy=9030796&hvtargid=pla-568327921176&psc=1 and it fits fine behind the gladiator back seat, but it fit a little snug so i took off the metal ring around the speaker that was there for looks anyway and the seat closed just fine with a little push. Anyhow with a proper amp ( I chose a rockford fosgate 4 channel amp with 2 channels bridged to make 300 watts going to the sub and 100 watts each going to my kicker 6x9s I put in my sound bar) I now have some bass in my gladiator. Far far far more than a powered sub. So i got a little bump in my trunk.

For my system, I removed the body panel behind the rear seats and mounted the amp and subwoofer boxes back there. I've attached some pictures but generally the sub box is about 36" long, 11.5" tall, about 2" deep at the top and 5" at the bottom. That fit two 8" subwoofers. I wanted to preserve the under seat boxes for storage; stuff like air compressors and general stuff for the winch...

Wow great job. I did the same thing today but i put this crutchfield truck box amd 12 in sub combo in. https://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fos...ocphy=9030796&hvtargid=pla-568327921176&psc=1 It has this metal ring around the speaker that i took off because it made the seat a little tight closing, but after that it closed with just a little push. Now having a real speaker box instead of a powered sub makes a BIG difference especially with the right amp. So now I have some bump in the trunk. But i did upgrade everything. Kicker 3.5 in dash. Kicker 6 3/4 in the knee speakers with new speaker panel. Kicker 6x9 in the sound bar with custom inserts i made and if anyone wants the measurements and pix just message me. Kicker CX 360w amp for front speakers. Rockford Fosgate Punch P600x4 powering the 6x9s and sub. Now i did bridge 2 channels going to the sub so i have a constant 4ohm 300watts giving me some well needed boom boom boom
