Just a heads up for fellow Mojave owners who are considering adding the Mopar aux switch bank to their rig...
This is probably obvious to long-time Jeepers, but as a new owner, I rely pretty heavily on website descriptions being correct. When you search for the Mopar aux switch kit on most sites, you'll see two options:
1. One version for Rubicon models
2. One version for everything else
Certainly not all sites, but MOST sites just leave it at that. If you have a Rubicon, order #1. If not, order #2. They don't go into what the differences are, so I have no choice but to trust them. So, I ordered #2 thinking that it would fit my Mojave, because clearly, that's the right choice, yea?
Spoiler alert: The only difference is the color of the bezel around the buttons...
Rubicons have a chrome trim, the others are black. That's it.
Spoiler alert #2: Mojaves ALSO have the chrome trim around the locker switches, not black...
TLDR: If you want your aux switches to match your existing Mojave buttons, order the one that says it's for Rubicons only... ?‍
[Personal Bitching]
So here's the fun part. When you order from BAM Wholesale, they give you the option to add your VIN to the order so they can check your order for compatibility. When I (erroneously) ordered the black aux switch bank, I included my VIN, so they knew I had a Mojave. They checked it, and said it was good to go. (Clearly it's not.)
So I contacted them, pointed out to them that their website description is not entirely true, and that they sent me a mismatching color. I also kindly stated that because I had provided my VIN, I would expect them to exchange the item for the correct kit without me having to pay return shipping.
The rep that responded decided to be a Karen and give me a "Well TEEEECHNICALLY... the kit you have IS compatible, so when we checked the VIN, we're just making sure that it works with your vehicle, not if it's the right color..." ?
So their website description is wrong, I did everything I could to give them the chance to do the right thing, and now they're being asswipes about their mistake.
Fun Fact: Up until yesterday, the title header of the item #2 in this post said "RUBICON ONLY" in it. I think now that I pointed out to them how that's wrong, they've updated it. Half assed effort considering they didn't update the text below, but still, progress I guess...
EDIT: I guess another BAM rep got a hold of my email exchange regarding the aux kit, and they said they're shipping a replacement and a return label for me. Crisis (of color mismatch) averted!
