I don't pretend to understand these new fangled non-greaseable chassis points in the front but I now know they loosen up over time.
I remember when I drove off the lot in the fall of '19 thinking how tight the suspension feels and how far Jeep has come from the TJ.
Last few months, maybe even year I started to notice it felt more and more like the old TJ. Loosey goosey. Then something started rattling in the front end last week. The drag link connector to the passenger wheel hub was down-right loose!
Read on several JL forums people found lots loose up front even from the factory so I went over the whole front end and sure enough, many of the nuts needed to be brought up to torque spec. I'm at 33k on the odo.
Drives tight as the Eagles offense now (Go Birds!) Highway driving is SOOOO much better.
Tighten your front ends, peeps!

So overrated and boosted by a low bar of comparison (ridiculously easy schedule)? Sorry I couldn't help myself. I actually do hope they beat KC, but I still think their crazy easy schedule was a big help.

I've got around 24K on my Overland (ordered 5/19 delivered 7/19) and she's still Tupper Ware tight in the front end. I also have not had any of the other issues that others have been having such as leaking rears, blown engines, steering boxes grenading, battery issues with the ESS, etc. <knocking on wood ???>

I'm still thinking that those units built in mid-late '20s to to early '22s are going to have lotsa issues because the quality control of not only the builds but, for all the bits-n-pieces that went into them, were severely lacking because of COVID, and QC personnel weren't available or working at all so things just kinda-sorta went on without proper QC.

In the NFL world a schedule is only easy in hindsight when you win a lot and people hate you.
The Jeep front end is overrated and over boosted, however, I concede that point. :)

Haha, I think the schedule in this year was more like the jeep vs a subaru, the jeep is good, but how good is hard to tell if all you compare against is crap =). Either way though, fuck KC come on birds.

I feel the same way. I bought my Overland in July 2019. It was one of the first the dealer received. A recall replaced the driveshaft, and a TSB replaced the steering box. It now has 45k miles on it with only oil changes, tire rotations, air filters, wiper blades, and batteries. I think the QC on the original runs was much better than it is now.

No problems on my 2020. Steering will never be like a rack and pinion.

I have no dog in the fight between KC and Philly

Anyone have factory torque specs for the front?

I like to think they took extra good care of the Gators ?

Given what I know now and what I've learned from these forums, I'd drive a brand new one home from the dealership and immediately break out the torque wrench.
Agreed and that is my plan. Makes me wonder what’s going on in the plant. Are their tools not on a regular calibration schedule?

It's for the JL, but yes. You'll have decipher the link. Hopefully that worked to get around the banned site bullshit.

What version is that? Mine (from 10/2020 at the very bottom) shows much higher torque specs for almost all the rear components.

Checking and re-torquing entire suspension once a year. 2019 purchase. Never an issue.
