I would say yes but depends on your payload. People will tell you to do the chalk test and lower/raise psi until they wear across the whole strip of chalk. I run my 37” KO2s on 17" wheels with a light topper at 35 cold psi and they will heat up to about 37. Seems to work for me.

EDIT: Mine are also load range C

Depends on how heavy your rig is among other factors like rim vs tire width and tire construction, but probably yes.

I just have a soft top with a 2 inch mopar lift. I don’t haul anything. The guy I bought my JT from actually owned the dealership and he had the 37” KO2 set at 40 and when they warm up they get around 43 to 45 psi . I really don’t know. I just never had that big of tire before and I’m going to get them rotated and balanced tomorrow at discount tire. I’m sure they don’t know.

Most 37s for a DD, around 30psi is the sweet spot

Also, you can get a tread depth tool and measure it on the outside, middle and inside to see how your tires are doing. They are fairly inexpensive or just grab a coin and eye test it. I bought one and check ever rotation and so far so good.

Thanks all. I’m at least getting between 17 and 18 mpg right now. I drive 50 miles a day for work and it’s all hwy back roads. I’ll post what discount tire has to say.

It’s so easy to figure out the correct psi. Just find the weight rating on each tire at max psi. Then add the four tires up to see the total weight all four tires will hold up. Then weight the vehicle they are on. If the 4 tires add up to say 12,000 lbs, and the vehicle has a GVW of 6,000? Then it’s safe to say half the weight? Half the psi from max.

So the discount tire that I go to in Northern Illinois say that they set those tires at 35 PSI and 40 PSI was too much. I’ll try 35 and do the chalk test and see what happens.

I run currently run 37 psi have only rotated my tires one time. I have same tires on my wife's FJ and prior set lasted 109,000 while at 37 psi and rotation done around 5000 miles. I know its a different vehicle but I think it's a good real world guide.

Not so sure that's going to work in all cases. I have the stock Wildpeak AT3's and the math works out to 28 PSI. (Load rating 2756 lbs.. Max inflation 50 PSI. GVW 6174 lbs.). Seems a bit low.

Truck tires will have inflation charts to show weight based on inflation as it's not linear. I will say 28-30 actually sounds about right for an unloaded gladiator though.

I'm testing mine right now. My 37s have about 4k on them mostly run cold @ 36psi and heat up to about 39-41.

Since our trip to MOAB, I'm now trying out 33-34psi cold.
